Grace sang this in one take. We recorded this in 2021 when all my studio had was a few mics and a Scarlett box to its name.

One year ago we premiered Kill The Whale with full cast, releasing the full concept album at @joespub , for two oversold nights. It was a high like no other, like the wag of Pip’s tambourine. We’ll do it again soon, we felicitously promise 🫶🏼🐳
Had a beautiful day at @mysticseaportmuseum with the wonderful Melvillean scholar and mariner Mary Bercaw Edwards, who gave us a full tour of the last extant whale ship from the 19th century, the Charles W Morgan. I’ve known Mary for years, and had the pleasure of experiencing this ship with her a few times, and I have been so inspired by her boundless passion for sharing Moby-Dick, and the history of whaling with others. In 2014, she even joined a voyage on board the Charles W Morgan alongside a full crew of 30, even lowering whale boats and rowing among the whales, probably descendants of creatures this ship actually hunted. Let’s hope none of them recognized the stately queen that had been their ancestral adversary. 🐳🐳🐳
