“KILL THA G-WORD” è un progetto editoriale dedicato alla figura di PHASE 2, tra i writer più influenti e innovativi della scena newyorkese. Il libro percorre il suo passaggio in Italia, dal 1984 al 2012, raccontandone esperienze e incontri attraverso testimonianze dirette di persone che hanno avuto la fortuna di conoscerlo, accompagnate da materiale fotografico inedito. Edito da @spectrumstore , Il volume è stato stampato in edizione limitata di 1000 copie.
Un lavoro reso possibile grazie alla ricerca portata avanti da @mauriziowhat , che ha prodotto il libro curandone interamente testi, impaginazione e raccolta dei materiali. Attraverso una lunga ricerca di archivio è riuscito a riportare alla luce materiale inedito e a dare forma a un racconto coerente, dettagliato e scorrevole, restituendo in modo autentico una parte importante di questa storia.
Maurizio ha iniziato a parlarmi di questa idea durante alcune serate passate a guardare il mio archivio fotografico. Quando il suo lavoro di ricerca è iniziato, ho contribuito con due sketch che PHASE 2 mi regalò, (1992/93) oltre ad altro materiale fotografico relativo ad alcuni suoi passaggi a Milano.
Il libro è stato presentato il 21/11/2024. Per l’occasione Maurizio, con l’aiuto di Spectrum, ha organizzato una mostra presso lo @spaziomilesi , Milano.

While gathering material for the book, I wasn’t able to find the piece painted by Phase 2 during this jam. Phase 2 painted together with Reoh @sauroantimi , who also designed the flyer. A few days ago, I was finally able to see this finished piece, directly from @albertoparise_ph ’s archive.
