I can’t wait to return but until then… here’s a few stolen moments from my first visit ;)
Most Honorable mention to Sid for capturing the cover photo🥵
The prototypes.
Over the course of 6 months I probably made around 18-20 lamp bases. These were the final 12 lamps. I’m looking forward to refining these designs in the coming months. Also hoping to explore glaze chemistry👩🏿🔬
DM for purchase inquires. Price list in bio.
“Peach Fuzz” is definitely one of my favorite lamps. I watched like 3 movies in a row whilst making this lampshade and it was 10000% worth the time. I love juxtaposing the soft fuzzy texture of mohair yarn with the ceramic form.
Trying to ride the high of this experience but already I’m left craving the next one.
Like cooking a meal for hours only to find that when it’s done and ready to eat, you’re no longer hungry.
I’m grateful to have created this portal and shared it with my family, friends, and future friends… if only for a moment.
Many thanks to those who helped craft this momentary escape.
@districtclaycenter for creating a space for me to play with clay, @eatonworkshop for letting my light shine through. Austin for loaning your tables. And of course Rachel, for building the installation with me anddd buying the lemon drop lamp💡
BTS of “Where The Light Shines Through” on view April 7-16 @eatonworkshop
“Where the Light Shines Through” is entered through a single door. Upon entering, the viewer is in a dark room with mirrored walls and velvet curtains. A curated soundscape plays in the background. The mirrored walls reflect the lamps, their warm glowing light, and the viewer itself.
