I am SO EXCITED to announce my collaboration with St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Mark, and Dr. Charles Shadle. I will be writing a Native Flute Concerto with String Orchestra with Mark as the Soloist. I will also be orchestrating Kanohelvsgi Tsunilosvhi for Voice and String Orchestra. I am beyond grateful to be able to represent @thecherokeenation and Indigenous Classical Music surrounded by a great partner, a great friend, and a wonderful orchestra.
So Incredibly excited to announce that I will be performing Kiowa Six again with Alexander Mickelthwate and the Oklahoma City Philharmonic for their MainStage classics concert series on October 25th, 2025.
It was a blast, to premier this work the orchestra back in November. I am very thrilled to be able to bring it to folks here at home!
Thank you Maestro Micklethwaite and Orchestra.

Congratulations to graduate composer/cellist Kiegan Ryan @kig.wizard_ on the world premiere of his four-movement Cedar Flute Concerto featuring Mark Billy @markwobilly , commissioned and premiered by The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra!
The Feb. 12-15 Minnesota concerts, which included Choctaw songs and a performance of Ryan's Cherokee song cycle Kanohelvsgi Tsunilosvhi, featured the composer on cello and Billy as baritone vocalist as well as flute soloist.
Ryan notes: "I'm proud of the work Mark and I did to showcase our culture, languages, and our cultural values. It was a honor to write for the flute and to play as a soloist." Bravi tutti!
Today for our final concert with @thespco and I am particularly grateful to be carrying all these people with me: my mom, dad, brother, grandmother, and still with me, my niece and nephews. This one in Indian languages and flutes is for you. All my love to my @kig.wizard_

On Monday Mark and I got back from a roadtrip to Sacramento, California for @desiraemgo most beautiful wedding. We made stops in Albuquerque, Painted Desert National Park, Grand Canyon, and Los Angeles to see @jcruiseberry . I loved the trip so much. It made me so incredibly happy to meet some awesome friends. It might be a long drive but every mile was worth it. I used to be afraid of the desert. But I felt welcomed to explore it with my love. Thank you and hope to see more of you soon Southwestern United States (+North Cali).
