Grateful for the opportunity to have attended and presented at the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Conference hosted by @anzmentalhealth #CAMH26 #kidsofpurple
Today we celebrate all the fathers who have survived domestic violence, who have stepped up as positive role models and who have broken the cycle of violence for the safety of their children. We also stand with the children who no longer have a positive father figure in their life and remember all the fathers who have lost their lives due to violence ๐

Today we celebrate all the mothers who have survived DV for their children, the mothers who are currently experiencing the hardships of DV and all the caregivers who stepped up to help those mothers struggling. We also remember all the mothers who have lost their lives due to violence and the children who are left to carry on their legacy ๐

Today we pay tribute to and honour all of the men, women and children who have tragically lost their lives due to violence. We also pay tribute to those who have lost loved ones in the wake of violence and had to grieve a loss that should never have occurred. For these families and for our future, we will continue to advocate to make our country safer ๐

Honoured to have attended the Act for Kids Tree of Healing launch in Caboolture. The Tree of Healing is an opportunity for community members to colour a flower and share a message of hope for those affected by domestic and family violence. As an organisation that aims to support youth who are facing hardship, Act for Kids helps support the 2 in 5 Australian children who are impacted by DFV. You can visit and make a contribution to the Tree of Healing at the Caboolture Hub during the month of May๐
May is Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Month. To recognise this month of awareness, Kids of Purple is encouraging you to support the 2 in 5 Australian children affected by DFV through recognising the effects of DFV on youth, raising awareness about DFV and by promoting resources that will help the prevention of DFV in families across Australia. Every child has a right to feel safe and every person in our community has an ability to help them feel that way ๐
