KP's month in review. 🌨️ April's theme: Humans and pets alike yearn for the sun.

This week at Kick Point, we got deep into a discussion on everyone’s current “micro-obsessions”! While we have a pretty good idea of everyone’s main obsessions, we weren’t up-to-date with the more offbeat fascinations. Please reach out if you share any of these micro-obsessions, or if you require more context into what is going on in some of these (though we can’t promise that will bring you any extra clarity into the minds of KPers).

Some members of the KP team met up at @felicecafeyeg today for our weekly meeting and it was actually warm enough to get a group pic outdoors! 😱 Don’t call it fake spring… yet. 👀

✨2016 memories✨ Here’s what the KP team was up to 10 years ago. Cue the cheesy music!

The 2025 season at Kick Point was a classic combo of being busy and learning lots, with some good old-fashioned and slightly off-beat fun sprinkled in. A highlight is the first full year of team member planned team meetings: take your budget and run your meeting however you please. 🎨 We learned new things about each other, like who can draw and who cannot ⛳️ We branched out into YEG (Looking at you, Rundle park + golf course!) 🍤 Had some novel experiences, e.g., dressing up in attire from the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company shop ☕️ Tried new things, like making beaded fish keychains and tasting cold brew lemonade Here's to another year🍻. Happy 2026 everyone!

The KP Party People gathered for some holiday cheer in jolly ol' Edmonton! 🎄 Even our out-of-townies made it (except for Dana, due to illness 💔 ). YEG really got into the spirit of things, putting on some North Pole temperatures to welcome our remote friends. Did they regret it making the trip just to risk losing digits to frostbite? Probs not, because we went bowling, had snacks, and a fierce penny auction for gifts. The penny auction went like this: everyone got 45 pennies, gifts were auctioned one at a time, people were ruthless (except for Sarah, who walked away with... nothing, beyond the gift of the KP team's presence). Good tidings to you all!!

Does AI search have you wondering if the old SEO can't come to the phone right now? Don't worry, SEO is not dead, we promise. 🤝 In her latest post, Elizabeth Linder shares some wise words (and actionable advice!) for a nice mindset check heading into 2026. For example: "You’re not falling behind. You’re not an imposter. You’re a professional navigating a natural evolution in your field, and you know more than you think." We’re coming up on the three year anniversary of Kick Point moving to a four day work week 🥳. Since making the shift, the KP team have said they feel more recharged in all areas of their life, have more time and energy to be involved in their communities, and feel ready to show up for work as more engaged human beings. Here are some of the things our team were able to do this past Friday, our non-working day! 🎃 Lots of Halloweeny things! 🎄 Hobbies like 3D printing & Christmas prepping 🏋️‍♀️ Moving those bodies through strolls & lifting (do you even lift?) ☕️ Friend hangs! It’s like we always say, anything that was created in response to poor working conditions during the Industrial Revolution is probably due for an upgrade!

@sammy__jo planned a Halloween themed team gathering for us: an escape room @edmontonescape (well technically two escape experiences in an escape house). 🎃 For a glimpse into our experience, the answer to all the following questions is ‘yes!’: Did both teams escape? Did one team escape faster? Did one team scream louder? Did anybody say NOPE NOPE NOPE? Did anybody have to perform a seance? Did anybody need to get a hint for the very first clue? Does everybody want to go again?

Renee’s turn to plan our bi-weekly team meeting means we went golfing! Skills ranged from zero to more than that, but in the end we were all pretty confident we are pros now. #ReadyForOurGreenJackets
