Hey my name is Kick 🧿
For the past 1,5 year I feel like I’ve been living a double life. My friends and family started calling me Kick but inside a lot of circles I still had to be Elke. This is something I no longer want to do. I am Kick and even tho it is extremely scary, a specially being an athlete, I want to be kick everywhere!

SILVER🥈!!! It is a few weeks after the European championships and I am finally trying to right something down about this incredible achievement, its hard to put down in words how I feel. But after many years of extremely hard work I finally did it my first senior medal!!!
The last 3 years have been extremely hard and stressful especially with the reclassification. After I got paralysed everything changed and I had to learn how to use my body again. After months of intense rehabilitation I started fencing again and that was extremely confrontational because I couldn’t move like I used to. I kept falling over trying to find balance but all the core stability was gone. Now finally after years I’m reclassified as a B. I worked extremely hard the last months to get as ready and strong as possible and the hard work paid off for sure.
But I didn’t do it alone. Two people that really stood by my side at all times through this all are @matthijsrohlfs & @lotte.koop without their help, support and patience I would not have made it to where we are today. I also want to thank @fysiomed.amsterdam for all the support throughout the years and ofcourse the @turkiyeeskrimfederasyonu they make my career as a fencer possible and I am so thankful to have these amazing people around me!
Now I am in Poland for a training camp and all eyes are on the last qualification tournament in Soa Paulo 🤺🇹🇷

2 weeks back from the World Cup in Cardiff. Unfortunately I got sick pretty much directly after I got back home but now I’m all better and ready to go back to Turkey to start training for the European championship in March.
As we speak I’m avoiding packing the rest of my suitcase so as we all know by now I will probably be ready super last minute… 😅
