This past week @jostinbarber_ made his debut in both the International Pizza Challenge, and the World Pizza Games competitions at the @pizzaexpo in Las Vegas and he absolutely crushed it.
He placed 5th out of 30 from around the world in the @baciocheese competition. His pie consisted of garlic sauce, sharp provolone and mozzarella, pickled onion, bacon bits, toasted almonds, micro arugula, truffle oil and orange supremes. It was a delicious pie!
He also competed in largest dough stretch, fastest dough, triathlon, and the acrobatic pizza spinning competition. He did great in all of them but he really killed it in the acrobatics. He placed first in the qualifying round and a very close second in the finals. The crowd really loved him! He’s such a showman.
Jostin has been spinning dough since he was a toddler. He would throw pro doughs around constantly. This competition was an extra special one because Jostin and Justin are cousins. Justin started competing in 2005 with Kianti’s where his aunt choreographs shows where the entire staff dances and Justin would spin tough. Those shows still run today and Jostin is now performing in them and working @kiantis . Jostin is also working and spinning at catering events and pop ups with Sleight of Hand.
It was an epic way to start competing! We’ll be back next year and Jostin will be even more polished. He’s just getting started! 🍕💪

We got invited to @kiantis to have a dining experience unlike anything we’ve had in Santa Cruz…. This was my first time sitting down for a meal at Kiantis, and I’ll definitely be going back. 😆
