Ahhhh!!! Kiah and I are SO THRILLED to announce this delightful children’s book series that’s been in the works for so loooonnggg! 🥳🥳🥳 I had all these ideas about how to tease or soft launch the news here on instagram, but I’m just TOO EXCITED - so we’re going for a HARD LAUNCH babyyy - let’s go!! 🎉🎉🎉
A Little Bit Lola is an absolute DREAM COME TRUE of a project I was invited to illustrate a couple of years back with the wonders at @hardiegrantkids and @kiahthomas (author, visionary, comical genius!), and it’s SO surreal and SO wonderful to see two (TWO! 🩵🩷) of these books finally landing in the hands of beginner readers (not least the hands of my youngest; 6 years old - just learning to read, and already Lola’s biggest fan!)
I can’t wait for more kids to meet Lola. 🌟 She’s got so much fire. She sets her sights on the biggest, most seemingly impossible dreams (GIANT-like dreams, you could say!) - but she believes in herself and her mission enough to keep trying - and to find a solution that defies the impossible. 🌌
To be completely honest… Lola reminds me of so many of my friends: refusing to give up on a mission or dream that they care about deeply - however impossible it may seem... I admire the heck out of them. I admire the heck out of Lola. 💗
Oh: and the series is FUNNY! Kiah and the editing team are SO CLEVER and getting to illustrate the truly hilarious antics and twists and foils in these stories was such a delight. Turns out I’m completely hooked on getting a laugh out of kids now. It’s pure magic. ✨📚✨
I’ll share more soon! (I have so many gorgeous pages I want to show you!) - but in the meantime, keep your eyes peeled for Lola out in the wild this September! 🩵💜🩷✨
P.S It’s Spring here in Australia (o.k technically we’re a few days shy on the calendar but this weekend was glorious so I’m calling it! 🌞) - and I thought these wattle blossoms would suit Lola's vibe - cute as a button, and pure gold. 🌼💛

Lone Wolf Goes to the Library and Lone Wolf on Vacation are out TODAY! I love making Wolf books so dang much, and K-fai’s art is next level in these two. Personal highlights for me are the snotty little boy and the stern librarian (though as always, the jolly hiker has my heart)
My first copy of The Callers: The Hidden Forest has arrived (Callers Book 2)!!! It’s out in May with @chroniclekidsbooks , just after the paperback edition of book 1 comes out in April - both with incredible cover illustrations by @emcguire
My daughter styled me for these photos. I’m wearing a long-sleeve green shirt to match the book, and a skirt that makes me look like a princess (you can’t see it in the pictures so you’ll just have to imagine). She’s also holding a branch above me in the last picture so that I’m hidden in the forest. I’ve labelled myself in case you have trouble spotting me.

I’ve been knocked on my arse this week with a terrible cold. Still not come good which is getting annoying at this point, HOWEVER. In exciting news, the ole team is officially back together. Starting work on a new book next week with the great @kiahthomas , our captain @alyson_obrien is back at the helm, steering the ship for @littlebookpress .*
