What makes your soul shine? ✨ What makes you light up? What do you keep coming back to? What do you truly miss when you have to take time away? I’ll go first. Hi I’m Kyler aka Ki5 I’m a vocalist who builds original and improvised a cappella songs from scratch in front of live audiences using a boss rc505 mk2. I made the song SoulShine in the video with @messieursswank I’m a producer, looping/beatboxing mentor, and co-creator of a smol production entity Kylex Stories that makes musical DnD inspired content both as live shows and on social media 💜 @kylex_stories …and I’m a vertical dancer Climbing absolutely makes my soul shine. It feels playful, fun, and heroic for my body to move in these ways. I love finding flow. I love moving with purpose. I love moving elegantly. I love a proper fight to hold on and lifting myself out of spooky situations. I love “unlocking” moves and solving climbing problems and completing projects that take multiple sessions. It gives me a beautiful focus (away from screens!) Having an aim and executing a worthy plan is satisfying It has connected me to a lovely community (s/o @planetrockgym Ann Arbor) and I climb with new people for 5 minutes or an hour plus all the time. We help each other and share knowledge and inspiration as a practice. Made friends like @d_bozzz who is a beast. Random People encourage each other on the wall as they are literally just walking by. It’s so cool. It makes me happy. It’s something I love sharing with others. 🔥SoulShine EP Release today only on Bandcamp!! 🔥 We poured our love of harmony, mindfulness, healing journeys, and earnest expression into a project for people who want to live a creative lifestyle and could use encouraging messages and mantras. We hope you enjoy these 5 songs. The SoulShine EP is a voice driven, uplifting, expansive singersongwriter project by Kyler Wilkins and Quentin Henry under the monikers Ki5 and Messieurs Swank respectively to remind us to create curiously, live mindfully, and love freely all while keeping an eye out for those we want to invite in wondrous rivers with us. It’s an invitation to seek, explore, and express. Some facts about our first release — “Shores Unknown.” • This was the very first track we created for Ballads of Shorevania. • It was the first song Alex wrote after immigrating to the U.S. • It was written right around the time Alex and Kyler met. So in many ways, this song marks the beginning of everything. When Alex moved to a new country, everything felt unknown — new culture, new people, new opportunities. Around that same time, he met Kyler. What started as a collaboration quickly turned into a shared idea: What if we build something that brings talented people together — singers, musicians, storytellers — and create adventures inspired by DnD? #dnd #acapella #bard #kylexstories
