It’s been a tough few days to say the least. I’m so tired... angry... sad... confused... shocked... that feeling in your gut you get when you feel so helpless. Every day, I expect to get a call or message that something happened to my parents. That some racist attacked my family just for how they look... I wait for this call, but I hope this call to never comes. My family are also waiting for that call too about me, and it’s an awful feeling. Ever since the pandemic I’m constantly cautious of my surrounding always expecting the worst every time I’m out alone. I see their side eyes... the subtle scoot away... I know what you’re thinking. You want me to “go home”. You think I’m a virus. The only virus here is hate. This is me just being light for this tedtalk.
