For the past couple of months we’ve been running our Monday Social Sessions — a chilled but high-energy run for anyone who wants to hoop. We’re a mix of total newcomers, players who’ve definitely had their peak years, and a few proper ballers who keep us looking like we know what we’re doing.
Think more “dusting off the cobwebs” than “elite ball-out”.
Most of us are total beginners or once-upon-a-time players whose knees now make interesting noises… with a couple of steady hands around just to help things flow. No ego, no intensity, no full-court warriors — just good people learning, laughing and getting a bit of a sweat on.
If you’ve ever thought “I’d love to give basketball a try but I don’t want to hold anyone up” — this is literally the session for you.

What a year — or should I say two? 🏀✨
Kings Heath Clangers Women turns 2, and it’s been a second year full of firsts:
- First season in the league.
- First time some players played competitively.
- 2 players in the top 10 scorers.
- 4 in the top 20.
We’re a community, and that’s what has made this journey so special. I used to be thrilled when 4 people turned up to a session — look at us now.
Thank you for trusting me enough to tag along on the journey, and massive thanks to @tomchewesimmonds for kickstarting it all.

One season… two finals - again!
Another great result from the Men’s Team last night.
Having lost two strong players mid season we knew this would be a tough ride. But when the team chemistry is 🔥… the sky it the limit for this collective 💪🏽
We wrap up our season at the @wmbl_1965 finals weekend with back to back finals on 16th and 17th May!

82-79 win against @blackcountrybasketball on Sunday
The team put on a great performance with bucket after bucket to keep an early lead strong through to the end of the third.
But with seven players on the bench, the team had to dig deep to claim a three point win at the end of a tense fourth quarter.
