February 16, 2023 my life flashed before my eyes when I found out my both kidneys were failing. It was a fact I instantly refused to accept. But my believe and trust in God saw me through the journey with the help of my sister who is my rock and friends that supported me morally & financially, my doctors and nurses(who are now my friends and family) at Doren Hospital and St Nicholas hospital where I had a successful kidney transplant surgery. I don’t know how I survived this but one thing is for sure, God was intentional about me. I was on dialysis for 1yr and 7months. In these times I showed up for work, I was present at friends events, I was doing everything that I thought I wouldn’t be able to do. Even though the situation broke me down a couple times I refused to stay down. I was destined to be done with the phase and continue back with my life. The last 1yr and 7months was incredibly hectic, tough and very challenging but through the help of God, really good friends and family I faced it with a very positive approach. I refused to share my condition with my friends- it was a personal battle. I’d rather share with God through prayer. I became so close to God. Today makes it one month post kidney transplant surgery and I am doing very fine. Everything I couldn’t do like urinating like everyone else I am doing it now. I am always so emotional just thinking about what I went through and the last days of dialysis. Sometimes I wake up with teary eyes and I just can’t stop talking about it and sharing my story because I know it’s going to inspire someone out there. Today I can testify that I am a living proof of God’s grace and mercy. I am a Fighter, a Survivor and a Child of God’s grace. So filled with gratitude, thanksgiving and joy because God gave me a new lease of life which led me to launch my foundation which will be spreading awareness on kidney and doing my bit of humanity for those suffering from kidney disease. I hope this inspires someone out there to go check their kidney function today ✌🏾I AM FREE!!! More updates on my Foundation coming soon… #transplantsurvivor #kidneytransplant #kidney #survivor Music by @victorthompson_
