What path is ever straight? 📸☀️🏝️

My photography journey has been fueled by the happiness of my childhood Gold Coast holidays.
Although I grew up on the north side of Brisbane, I could never get enough of the beach culture, the clothing, the surfers, the easy holiday meals dining el fresco.
We had ¾ of an acre to run, climb trees and read in the shade of the banksias. We holidayed at our family holiday home at Kirra four to five times a year until I was 13. 🥰
2. Mum was the family photographer and most captures were taken at the beach. This is me, 5.
3 & 4. At 16 I learnt the art of visual language. These invaluable lessons have stayed with me as I worked in the Film and Television Industry for 16 years. I was so blessed to have contact with some of the greatest cinematographers, stills photographers, writers, and craftspeople in Australia and beyond. I’ve worked with tigers, lions, elephants and a monkey. They sure teach you the power of the moment.
5. I’d had a few good trips overseas but my trip to Egypt In 2007 was life changing. After studying about ancient Egypt at school, I’d actually made it happen. 12 whole days of adventure and photographing the ethereal light. ⚡️
6. I moved back to Alexandra Headland in 2007. Sinking in to my creativity in full flight.
7. In 2011 I toured the Red Centre with Landscape photographer, Grenville Turner. (Image by follower traveller, Rachel)
8. As soon as I returned I enrolled in Creative Digital Photography Cert IV to start the following year studying at night. I graduated at the end 2013 and began Kezign in 2014. Yay! Proud moment. 😌
9. The business has been through several metamorphosis, for learning and improving never ends. 🙇♀️
10. My mission is to share the joy and healing powers of the natural world with others, and to continue to push the boundaries of my creativity.

Dipping into First Bay..☀️💦🐬 In calm conditions First Bay provides a quiet pocket perfect for surfing, swimming, soaking up the sun or reading a good book. 🧡 It's also a good shelter from Strong northerly winds.

We can wait months for a red cloud rise. Ones like this though are a surprise, where the layers of cloud light up just depend on the gap between eastern horizon cloud and the water line. 🌈💦🏝️

You can tell when the fish are running, the terns hover on the beach, in between food forages. Their circular swoops are poetry to watch. 🧡
