A big portion of my year last year was working on AI doc. I love being at @stopmotiondept and working with the amazing people you can find there.
The process was uniquely creative for compositing. As the documentary edit would change, so did the animation. Some of my favourite comp to do on this film was working under Phil & Charlie's direction to repurpose / retime / cut and mash together animation to create something new.
So fond of the entire team. Some memories that stick out: Empanada adventure with @kjelltastic . Terry trapping Sarah in a logic loop and her running out of the building. @pickled_veg for being my bestest lego buddy. @ahmhig Phil and I dying of laughter over the world exploding shot that will never see the light of day. And shout out to @akash.tyej for one of the most incredible days last year: the great slime mystery. 🔎

Here’s another fun creature we built for @science.and.creativity ’s art installation, “The Encyclopedia of Pseudobiology.”
For this bioluminescent crustacean, we explored a wide range of design possibilities. Once a design was approved, the build came together quite quickly, allowing us to focus on the daylight and blacklight paint jobs.
The movement of this crustacean was achieved through a mix of buoyant plastics, silicone appendages, water current and a small motor to push the creature through the sand.

This week at @tmuimagearts I installed my gallery for the first time.
This exhibit aims to remove the “absolute truth” involved in scientific practice by presenting fictional creatures that were created with evolutionary concepts in mind. It aims to redirect attention back to what science truly is: curiosity.

The goal of this week was simply to practice install, deinstall and documentation. For those of you wanting to see it in person we will be installing in galleries in the future that are more suitable for public visits.
