Welcome to Key Production. For over 30 years, we’ve been supporting artists and labels to bring their music to life in physical formats. From vinyl to Blu-ray, our team combines expertise, creativity and sustainability to make each release something special. This is where music becomes tangible. Get in touch to start your next project with us.
Huge news for us here at Key Production and Nick Azinas and all our friends at @sharptonerecs with @alphawolfcvlt ‘Half Living Things’ nominated for the 2025 Best Boxed or Limited Edition Package Grammy. This was one of our most ambitious boxsets yet, taking design, concept and delivery to a new level, so we’re very proud to see it receiving this massive acknowledgement.
Mike Hicks, Group Head of Sales here at Key says: “Working with clients like Nick at SharpTone to provide creative solutions for exciting bespoke packaging briefs like this is just a dream. At Key Production we love being challenged to make the seemingly impossible possible. And then to make it come to life as the beautiful finished product is extremely satisfying. To be recognised globally in the Grammys is an incredible icing on the creative cake.”

The @greatescapefest is back this week, and the team are heading down to Brighton to get involved.
As one of the key moments in the UK music calendar, it’s a chance for artists, labels and industry teams to come together, discover what’s next and exchange ideas.
We’re here catching up with partners, meeting new people and taking part in conversations around the future of physical music - from supporting artists to evolving formats and more considered production.
If you’re in Brighton this week, feel free to reach out.
@melaniecmusic landed this week’s official number 3 album, with the blinding new LP, ‘Sweat’.
We’re proud to have worked alongside Mel C’s team helping deliver the physical release across a range of vinyl and CD variants - including standard and exclusive editions, coloured and splatter vinyl pressings, alternative artwork CDs, expanded packaging formats, booklets and collector-focused details for fans.
As PopMatters wrote, giving the record a 9/10 review this week, “On Sweat, Melanie C recognizes she was only ever waging war upon herself. For the first time in her solo career, there is a triumphant lightness to her self-interrogation. As a pop star hitting a new peak in her 50s, this ‘Undefeated Champion’ no longer has anything to lose.”
Look out for our handy shopping bags at this Saturday’s @indielabelmkt , happening at Coal Drops Yard, London. There’s DJs, live music, plus an exciting handpicked line-up of the most exciting indie labels in the UK offering a huge amount of fresh and special edition vinyl. We’re just doing our part to help you carry as many of your new favourite records home as possible.
Independent labels are such a lifeblood of music. They take chances on new artists, build scenes, back strange ideas, preserve culture, and put real care into records from the very beginning. A huge amount of the music world simply wouldn’t exist without them.
We’ve spent over 30 years working alongside labels of every shape and size, so events like this always remind us why we love this industry in the first place.
Everyone at Key Production would like to congratulate our founder and CEO, @karenemanuel1 , on receiving her OBE for Services to Music.
Over the years, Karen has played an important role in championing physical music, supporting artists and labels, and driving positive change across the industry. From building Key Production into one of the UK’s leading physical music manufacturers to pushing forward conversations around sustainability and innovation, her contribution to music has been both longstanding and far-reaching.
This recognition reflects not only Karen’s dedication to the industry, but also her passion for supporting the wider music community and helping shape a more responsible future for physical media.
A hugely well-deserved honour, and a proud moment for the entire Key Production team.

@wulyf_archive WU LYF’s return has been one of the most talked-about moments in independent music this year.
With ‘A Wave That Will Never Break’, the Manchester group have re-emerged on their own terms - taking a deliberately independent route, building direct relationships with fans and doing things outside the traditional model.
We’re proud to have helped manufacture the physical release of a record that feels culturally significant not just for the music itself, but for what it represents: artists creating with intent, backing their community, and proving there is more than one way forward.
Happy International Jazz Day!
To celebrate, we caught up with Key Production’s Group Joint Head of Sales and jazz aficionado Mike Hicks to talk about why jazz and vinyl have remained such a natural pairing.
From the warmth and depth that vinyl brings to jazz recordings, to iconic sleeve artwork that deserves to be seen at full size, Mike shares why physical formats continue to hold such strong appeal for jazz listeners and collectors alike.
Kath Summersgill, Joint Group Head of Sales, will be attending @liverpoolsoundcity this week.
Taking place across Liverpool City Centre, Sound City is one of the UK’s leading independent music festivals and industry conferences, bringing together emerging artists and music professionals for a programme of live performances, panels, and networking across the city centre.
If you’re attending and would like to connect, feel free to reach out to Kath ahead of the event.
