🩵 there’s two types of people in this world, todd snider fans, and those who haven’t heard of him. if you’re the former then you’re already aware, if you’re the latter then you’re in luck, because you get to hear it all for the first time, which the former is certainly envious of. it’s been a weekend grieving a family member that I’m not related to. whatever this feeling, it’s a high price for inspiration. saturday the beaverton beavers won state, and i am told this includes district too. all this and dad is in town, rather serendipitous timing. i appreciate johnny for putting us up, reina for capturing this, and dom for the guitar. this world is so amazing, the sun is shining and it’s raining too. todd snider rules “Play A Train Song” w/ @wshapiro1 📹: @let.it.reins & @johnnythefranco

When I look at these photos, I see the nuance of Connor and his lovely wife Chelsea sampling America, which they did by spending a few years living in New York, New York; Hilo, Hawaii; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Missoula, Montana - though the work is not limited to these places. Perhaps it’s best described in his words: “Made between 2021 and 2023, this body of work showcases the peculiarity of American life as seen through quotidian moments and landscapes. Fruited Plains depicts a 1,000-yard view of the country as a whole and the myriad of experiences that make up its fabric. With a deep appreciation for the ordinary and moments of solitude, these photographs reveal subtle and poetic moments that are often overlooked.” 🌾 🌾 🌾 If you’re headed to the @sfartbookfair this weekend, find this and other great projects at the Illitante table. For those who live for the long weekend, we present ‘Weekender,’ a short film documenting a mission many have dreamed of but few have attempted. Three boards in three days - snow, surf, and skate - from Mt. Hood to the Oregon sea, @ryantownley and @kevinshapiro make a sprint over a long weekend to hit the slopes, some rails, and get barrelled. Can they do that which has never been done?
