Those who know me are aware that I am a wide open spaces and solitude lover, but this time it was really special !
An experience chased for a little while for two reasons:
➡️Since my first visit here, in 2011 and in the
@sportremo , with already at the time a great welcome, I had added the place to my rowing bucket list. If you are passing through Porto, I warmly advise you to visit them, these guys are very welcoming, and are keen to make you discover their waters, their club and to have a good time rowing and on land ... in addition they organize rowing trips on the wild Douro, upstream
@dourosporttour ... I left with one more item on my list and the will to come back !
➡️For years now, I have been watching
@averowingboats innovations on social media, and I finally had the opportunity to visit their factory, but also to test their coastal single. The handling immediately brought comfort and responsiveness, and I was able to really enjoy myself, both in the waves of the boats that transport tourists and also on smooth waters... I deeply recommend you to give these boats a chance, which will surprise you both by their performance, but also by the layout of the cockpit: alliance of the simplest and most functional, and feels very solid!
❤️I felt like I was in a comic , or the anime Arcane. The particular environment of this city with its perfect balance between tradition and modernity gives a #steampunk atmosphere that is difficult to describe, but unique to feel !
It’s teeming and full of life in all directions, with traditional boats playing the waters, banks filled with stunned people and seabirds, trains passing over the bridges and in particular the famous little brother of the Eiffel Tower, the funicular, the cable car… All of this but more, with a decor bordered by typical and colorful architecture, nestled in these dizzying cliffs and framed by imposing historic buildings…
And the cherry on the cake: we rowed during a sunset on a day of great blue sky…
