Filled with my usual mixture of awed disbelief and percolating gratitude to announce the start of Year Seven (!!!!!!!) here at our Patreon Social Club. Patreon.com/kevindevine It may be April Fools’ Day, but I assure you this is real, and I sort of love that a decision we made in the sharp teeth of early COVID has cemented April 1st as our New Year’s Day. We are running back the core features of last year’s membership tiers. Stability felt like the move, especially as we wrap up such a consistently rewarding Year Six (if it ain’t broke!) and simultaneously have the completion & release of a new studio album and the fulfillment of its ongoing attendant Kickstarter campaign in our immediate future. One fun note for the Just Stay tier Is that we will be doing a new sticker design for anyone who orders a personalized lyric sheet, and we will share that design here once we have it. (And on the housekeeping business of Year Six lyric sheets, I’ve done every one that’s come in to the sign-up sheet - my goal is to get these out in the mail by mid-April, so, keep your eyes out!) I’m completely amazed by what we’ve made here - 156 recordings, a livestream every month for six years, and so much more quarterly & situation-specific stuff, an aggregating real-time social & archival experience. One week from today, the Goddamn Band & I (with support from Casey Jost) become Kenny O’Brien & the O’Douls for one night only at the Mercury Lounge in NY. This project is fun first, a really enjoyable blend of spirited Kenny originals, a couple KD songs, and psychotically committed executions of cover band staples.
