He’s spent the past many months collecting 7” of all of the songs from my favorite girl group comp ever and put them in the cutest vintage 7” box that I’ve always wanted in a color I never knew existed and I am over the 🌖 and I’ve got the best dude ever and I hope he likes the shirt I got him 🤦🏻♀️. 27 years ago I went to a party at @stefaniedrootin ’s Winnetka house and had the most amazing time reconnecting with her brother. I asked him out on a date for the following night and he said yes! He picked me up from my late night shift at Rhino Record Store, we stayed up all night listening to records and talking and laughing and all of a sudden I was driving up to see him up in Santa Cruz and crashing his family’s Xmas eve party a few weeks later. Time really does fly, especially with a partner that keeps you laughing and keeps things interesting always. I couldn’t imagine doing this thing with anybody but @td.deadly . He’s the best and just look at those shades 😍

This post is a bit delayed because I’ve been like, really really really busy working on Stumble! It’s premiering right now on the east coast and at 8:30 here on the west coast. It’s really fun, it’s really well done and the accelerated pace we are on is wild. Also I’m learning a lot about cheer music! So are my co-workers via our thin walls. 📣📣📣

Six months ago today, we opened the doors to our Granada location with little fanfare. It wasn’t long before we knew we were at home. We had an amazing three year run in Chatsworth, but when we saw a spot open up in the Village we felt a pull on our hearts that we couldn’t resist — the chance to make all the things Deadly Wax meant to us and others happen right here in our hometown was worth taking a big chance and making a possibly crazy move. Doing this in the town we write in our return address proved to be every bit as meaningful as we hoped and it’s a true thrill to be a part of this exciting moment in Granada. Today we’ll join with friends to cut a ribbon and celebrate being here. Why a ribbon-cutting six months in? To me the easier question was “why not?” — this is a chance to get together with treasured friends and customers, introduce ourselves to neighbors we haven’t met yet, and show off the little store that we’re so proud to add to our community. We are celebrating six months in Granada with a better-late-than-never official ribbon cutting ceremony with our friends from @ghillschamber . Come see the first (and maybe last) ever live performance at any location of the shop, we will be enjoying some tunes from @bigharpband who have released records on Saddle Creek and Fat Possum but are more importantly my sis and bro-in-law. The festivities will kick off at 4 PM next Thursday the 18th and we’ll keep the shop open an extra hour because why waste a chance for more fun?

And we have a new theme song, written by our old pal @nickfromislands and his writing partner Patrick Ford and i love it so much!!
