Been updating and optimizing my scattering tool I made for thesis. It takes things like nutrients, water flow, and shadows to determine plant scale, density, ect. Runs practically in real time now and gives more predictable results. Here's a test scene that I enjoyed how it looked.
Been messing around with volume rendering in different render engines. These images go renderman, redshift, and 3delight. Its very cool to see the different approaches they have for volume workflow. I really wish redshift could implement some of the setting in renderman and 3delight. Getting sim color to show up in rendering was very easy in all three.
A work in progress for my thesis. It's been fun, I've been working on custom plant growth based on sun/shadow location, water flow and so on. Very excited to share the finished piece when I finish l.
