Post teaching practice… . It takes years to become old, and years to continue to move - noticing the little changes. Injuries here and there, the body never remains the same, yet we find a way to make it move - to express, to take shape, to feel, to flow both in the day to day and in moments where we wish it to functional in extraordinary ways. What is the practice that supports that? As I get older, though I don’t feel old or much like how I was told being old would look like, I do notice … a desire and gratitude for a body that allows me to navigate the world with more depth. Depth that feels harder and harder to connect with for me these days - as the world burns, or rather the burning world becomes more and more revealed and in front of mind for more people, the energy is heavy - sou practice also asks me to create bigger capacity. There is no one easy answer, the practice making practice is also the practice. The making sense … this writing yapping is also part of the practice. #movementismedicine #softacrobatics #acrodance

They’re baaacckkkk 🥰💪🏼✨🐉🫶🏼!!! I’ve been offering these free sessions since I started coaching many years ago. And though it’s taken some time to bring them back - they’re here. I’m offering a limited number of Clarity Calls. 🌞 These sessions are focused on helping you bring awareness to the roots of what’s feeling stuck inside of you and what feels challenging to move through as you build a business into the world that’s led through integrity, care - for you + your community, while centering nourishing and sustainable action. You can book the session through the link in my BIO. And if you have any questions - you’re welcome to reach out to me here. Through this session we’ll help you connect deeper with the parts of you that’s feeling challenged from the inside out - and help you not just identify but leave you with a kind of intention, map, and next step, that you can choose explore if you so choose. This is for those whose feeling a calling to build heart centered businesses that feel deeply settled, nourishing and generative as part of your world building practice - for those who that have been playing it ‘small’ or hiding , uncertain of what’s abundance could look like for you - maybe you feel a little guilty for your desires. It’s a place where we can help you reconnect with your values and remind you that an under resourced self has less to give back and redistribute to the community and the changes we support and participate in! Feel free to share with friends :).

Skim boarding teaches me a lot about how I wish to live my life. I no longer live near a skimmable beach - so I skim once or twice a year. I don’t get much better and I have very little choice of conditions. I skim when I can, where I can - and I love it. Yes. I miss the days when I could wait until conditions were better and the days where I could really feel myself improving. Of course, a good skim day is still more fun than a bad skim day. But skim boarding teaches me that when you do something for the joy of the process … the conditions nor the outcome doesn’t matter as much, as the act of getting to do the thing. That’s how I want to approach most things in my life. This is what makes creating, business building, being in relationships, and so on … sustainable and nourishing. To be grateful for the chance to be in it. Goiing to the beach. Letting the crisp water knock life back into your body. The feeling when you even catch a lip of momentum off a wave and those golden moments when you get a clean wrap … ALL of this … makes any judgment I bring to the session , just judgment that washes away with the ocean because I know I’m stoked either way.

Letter and a ramble to myself. But most importantly a shared invitation to you. To settle our souls a little bit now, to let it expand to the edges of our bodies and to create what you can - what is available and possible to you, in the now, instead of waiting for future imaginations to unfold. Do not be stuck in the future, because if you’re anything like me - this is a way to avoid the present possibilities. The future, which never comes is safe. Because it is always a hypothetical, it is always an excuse away from consequence. It is always seeking permission. I am reminding myself to create what I can where I am in my journey now. Because the very act of listening to what’s possible right now and to allow it to manifest through effort, is an act of self trust, an act of joyful desire, and an act of self honoring.

The choice to act … can be difficult, but what I’ve come to learn is that at some point - if we want (to) change, there must an effort to act. Still, the body is intelligent in its ways. And though our brain says - step forward - something of us says … ‘no’. At times it’s like being torn in two opposing directions - and I have found myself frustrated 😣 and the crystals of shame start to form from this very experience. Why can’t I just … make it happen? Here I have learned to slow the breath down and witness … give awareness to the sensation in the body, what do we call this sensation? Nervous? Fear? Anxious? Excited? It could be something far in between. Without effort various sensations exist inside of me at the same time. Fear. Courage. I do not try to create them - they are already here. But then, how can I allow both to heard, and choose to act? Everyone , every circumstance is different. A choice to post a marketing post, may differ from the choice to speak out against injustice - to speak on something familiar may be different from speaking on something new to us. And yet maybe .. it is also the same. Allowing the energies to exist as they are, being held lightly. Reminding myself that such thoughts attached to the energies (emotion/sensation) exist only in the mind. And by the mind, I also mean it exists in the body and recognized in the mind. What helps me is different - some days it’s playing out the voice of the fear, what does it believe will happen? Other times it’s letting courage give me enough will to act, and trust what’s on the other side. Often it’s both. What I find interesting is cultivating practices of our own .. to find a way to act in sustainable, loving and nourishing ways. What is that for you, for me? Because when we start to create such rituals, then we don’t remove the block, not always, but we grow new ways of moving despite or because of the blocks. These are the interesting practices I’ve been lucky enough to cultivate with myself and coaching clients over the years. 💪🏼❤️ 🫶🏼✨

A little post class flow. Quick. Dirty. It’s interesting to explore the skill set and the attributes that create the movement without getting caught in the aesthetics of movement. It’s often easy for me to get caught in the - this is what it should look like - or the common patterns of movement, but the question I’m trying to understand as I get older is … what is the body I’m connecting to that allows me to feel a certain way when I move? I’m trying to get deeper to the benefits of the movement practice for my human experience and physical health rather than get stuck on the aesthetics alone. 🤸🏻‍♀️🤔🐉. - #softacrobatics #animalflow #functionalfitness

Do we take the time of day to collapse? To turn the collapse into a spectacle? Not for others - not always - but to give it the spotlight it asks for from time to time. What do we notice when we do? What qualities become present? Why does our collapse feel , look this or that way? What does it ask us to notice and what does it ask us to do? I know that my collapse has been asking for more support. Has been asking to be seen - demanding in fact, to be made a performance out of. My collapse is woven with grief and sadness and it’s also woven with joy and connection - to be supported not by the strength of effort , but by what’s around me, and at the core of my bodied self.
