UPDATE: Fed hits pause on prime rate reduction!
What does that mean in real life?
No immediate changes on mortgage rates. Same for car loans and other lending. Basically, the Fed is saying “not yet.”
They’re also watching consumer confidence slide and hearing more concerns around job security, especially after the recent Amazon layoffs, which makes this a tricky balancing act between supporting growth and keeping inflation under control.
