🌱❣️Rooted in Mahal — What does Mahal mean to you? At @undiscoveredsf 2025, in the heart of South of Market Filipino Cultural Heritage District, we asked our community this question during Filipino American History Month. The answers weren’t just about romance. They were about care, responsibility, sacrifice, devotion, and value. In SOMA, mahal is something you practice. It’s the aunties and organizers who set up before the sun rises. It’s artists turning blank walls into memory. It’s DJs, vendors, elders, and youth choosing to gather again and again. It’s diaspora shaping belonging in real time. Mahal here means love, but it also means worth — something precious, something you invest in, something you protect. As Valentine’s Day approaches, we’re widening the lens. Not just who you love, but what you build. What you return to. What you are willing to nurture for the long term. In a neighborhood shaped by migration, resistance, and cultural rebirth, that word carries weight. Kreative Growth 2026 is rooted in this spirit. 👀The artist open call drops Monday. 💛So we’re asking you too — what does Mahal mean to you? Reshare with your answer. 🎥: @_ilaya.co & @kenfrv

Thank you to everyone who showed up to our recent screening of Keeper of the Fire! It was a SOLD OUT crowd!  It was a lovely night filled with meaningful conversations and a display of resilience and how community is at the forefront of resistance. Thank you to Alejandro, Lou, and David for participating in a Q&A where audience members got to participate in the conversation. 🎬🔥 Thank you to all staff members and volunteers for their incredible work! ♥️ Photos by @kenfrv Be on the lookout for more film screenings!  ¡viva la misión! #keeperofthefire #brava #bravatheater #filmscreening #sanfrancisco
