Reflecting on 2023, it’s been a year of personal exploration and self-discovery, taking a different path that doesn’t necessarily involve a bustling work routine or distinct seasons. Without the usual emphasis on socializing, my focus shifted to understanding myself better and embracing the simplicity of life. The absence of constant social engagements provided the space for introspection and deeper connections with my inner self. It allowed for a quieter, more contemplative journey, uncovering aspects of my identity and values that might have been overshadowed in the busyness of social interactions. While friends and social circles played a different role this year, the solitude became a canvas for personal growth. Challenges were faced independently, leading to a profound understanding of resilience and self-reliance. As I look back, 2023 wasn’t defined by external milestones or the changing seasons, but by the internal shifts and moments of clarity. The lack of a bustling social calendar didn’t diminish the richness of experiences; rather, it highlighted the importance of a more introspective and intentional approach to life. Heading into 2024, I carry with me the lessons learned in solitude. The next chapter awaits, promising new opportunities for connection or continued self-discovery. Here’s to the upcoming year, where the journey may unfold in its own unique way. After much deliberation among my brain cells, I’ve decided to release songs from my streams as I complete them, instead of working it up to a full album. Well, reasons being I’m already in the midst of completing an album and an EP, it might be a bit much to have another going. So, I’d have them out as singles and at least I don’t have to ‘keep working on it’ because its in my ‘in progress’ folder(S) 😅 Some of you may have heard this one on bandcamp, but it does feel it needs a home on other platforms. “Teddy Bear” was originally written for Twitch’s Theatre Jam back in June ‘24. The play was about an AI creator teaching an AI about life choices, and this scene is where the AI was presented a broken toy, and asked what would she do. Man that scene was a tear fest, and the track made it rain. Reading the viewers’ comments on how the music impacted them, I couldn’t let ‘Teddy Bear’ to be so short-lived, so I re-produced and included it here in “et cetera”. Video clip is my recreation and reimagining of the songs nature. So, DM me about the theatre jam and I’ll send you a link to the play. “et cetera” releases this Jan 31st! “et cetera” is a cross/ multi-genre collaborative album that I’ve started working on since late 2023. The album features sounds and style I created through my improvs and it debuts my first lyrical song (not performed by Lucy). Not too long ago, a friend asked me what inspires me to write music. 2 years ago, I would probably say, its about all the emotions and experiences with my past, all the cancer things and etc. But one can only dwell so much in the past I guess. So when I got asked the same question, and it got me thinking. What really kept me going? Well, [et cetera] is the answer @aza_inspirator . It is a reflection of all the different projects, collabs, paid/ free work, sound design for live streams/ shows, compilations and… etc. It has also made me realized that as much as I love ambient, I find most of my work now leads to different genres more and more. My journey into music the past 3 years have connected me with many friends and artists that influenced my work today. et cetera is about creative expressions, meeting briefs, collaborations and most of all, enjoying the process and outcome. et cetera comes to you this coming 31-Jan-2025. well, this year has been quite a slow year, both on my streams and releases (and here too) mostly because of school scheduling. Yeah, I’ve basically been only able to do mostly 1-2 stream a week… so, Im kinda surprised at this recap.
