Thank you @niweltsumbuguitar for allowing me to tell a story that is really close to me and gives a tiny little glimpse into the vast lore of the westafrican diaspora.
Niwels song evoked a clear vision from the very first time I heard it and is in itself a musical journey through the soul of cultures. I'm beyond grateful for his trust that this collaboration will birth a story that has its roots in actual Indigenous lore, and is rarely shown in that context.
I'm infinitely grateful for the support of @arturfastart adding your magic and soul to the project, I couldn't have done this alone and although it was a very tough and tight production I enjoyed every bit of it!

It follows the journey of the unlikely friendship between Arregoces, a young indigenous Kogi from the mountains of Colombia, and Lucas, a German author and social entrepreneur.

As an artist there are moments when I'm on the fence whether or not I should capture a motive as it seems too vulnerable to touch it. At the same time these motives push me to meet it at exactly that vulnerable stage and translate it to the unbearable beauty that I’m seeing in that moment. It's often seemingly insignificant or quiet moments and they hit when you least expect it. My love @barbaramare_ had a food-poisoning and was spending a full day in bed, that's when I attacked. she allowed me to post this 🍦
Although I visit my family almost every year in senegal, it has been seven years until I had the chance to revisit my property in the Casamance. I‘m a big step closer to a vision that was a long time in the making and slowly there is a network of people forming who can support the project. We‘re starting a series of monthly calls to forge and decide our next steps. DM me if resonates and you want to be part of this project. For now we can only allow a few people in our inner circle who are actively funding the project and are equally engaged with the vision to connect artists to the land and materials they work with! So looking forward to collaborate.

1. Get out of your head:
Remaining present grants you the greatest access to your intuition. Don't overthink or step in with big strategies or plans, so that you remain responsive and can react quickly to your opponent.
2. Listen: Rather than trying to get as much cuts and slices as possible, remain in an observing state and your next move will come naturally. Relax!
3. Enjoy: We know knifes are threatening and the art world is currently very brutal, but remember why you entered the fight in the first place. originally it wasn't for the competition or the outcome, but for the pure raw bliss that arises right in the process!
