I’m sitting here, listening to my babies breathe, sound asleep and reflecting on the journey. The industry is so fast paced that often times the opportunity to reflect is filled with the laundry list of others “to dos” or it lays out the unrealistic “overnight we did this” feeling that is so impure. This story was one that evolved because I was seeking healing, the peace that came with designing and becoming a mom. Flowers have always been something that were in my mind hand in hand with motherhood, watching their mamma follow her dreams, hopefully to inspire them to do the same. Through childbirth, breastfeeding, sleepless nights the flowers were something that taught us to slow down because our babies too are growing into their own little blooms. Sometimes we lose sight of who we are and what’s important and I will admit that I am guilty of that. Worried that taking time off ever will upset the wrong person or grieving loss, where we “should” be and just giving your energy to the wrong people, learning lessons. Feeling like we’ve lost this previous time. We are turning the page and reflecting on how hard we have worked, the love we have flowered and celebrated over the last 8 years. The transition from our dining room, the flower shed, the camper to a historic storefront that welcomes the community. It’s been a lot of Tetris. Prepping weddings, dailies and then pausing for an appointment to honor a grieving spouse and their wishes. Crying setting up a memorial service for a fellow veteran, celebrating a birthday then hitting pause to take the babes to the nursing home to deliver flowers, saying hello and praying that you are impacting their day. Coming home and picking dandelions in the yard with the kids. It’s a rollercoaster and all consuming. A journey, the long haul and something I know we wouldn’t have made it without each-other and the support. The most amazing local growers, true friends who hear you in the silence. The genuine people in the flower community that have your back, healthy babies and day old coffee. sweat and tears and blood by accidental clippers. Here is to no longer over thinking it and just sharing the love 🌼

This winter has been so hard emotionally, mentally, logistically even but I’m trying to remember that we are often times our hardest critic so instead of overthinking what to post I am going to feel proud of myself and post this sunny day and stop minimizing how freaking cool it was.
