Izzy’s 14th Birthday • Easter • Red Rocks Volleyball — Las Vegas
What a weekend. My girl turned 14 in Las Vegas, surrounded by her team and our family, on Easter Sunday, doing the thing she loves most. If that’s not a sign that God has a sense of humor and a flair for the dramatic, I don’t know what is. 🏐✝️🎂
Fourteen years ago — April 5, 2012 at 10:49am — I had an emergency c-section and came out the other side with my first girl. I had no idea then just how much personality was packed into that tiny human.
She is tall (I genuinely have to jump to reach her hand when she holds it over her head, and I still miss), she is funny in that effortless way that catches you off guard, she loves Jesus, country music, and honestly whatever else she’s feeling that day — her taste is gloriously all over the place. She would bake something every single night if we let her. We are still working on her cleaning skills🤣. She has straight A’s and a fire in her that I pray she never loses.
She is one of my absolute best friends. Her and her sissy both are.
Happy 14th birthday, Iz. You make everything more fun, more loud, and so much better. I love you more than you’ll ever know. 🤍

Being a mom to two girls who grew up in these halls made today extra full-circle magic. But being her auntie? That’s a whole different kind of love.
