Spring Awakening has been one of the most powerful and meaningful shows I’ve ever had the privilege of being part of. I’m so grateful to this incredible cast and crew who poured their love, energy, time, and creativity into every moment. We truly created something special, and I’m beyond thankful to everyone who has come out to support so far.

This story feels just as relevant today as it did in 1890 Germany, which is both heartbreaking and important. These themes are still very real, and I’m so proud to be part of telling stories that matter.

We got 3rd!!! Super proud of this whole team and what we accomplished in such a short time. We also won the best ensemble award which couldn’t have fit our team better. I’m so happy to have worked on “Yellow Face” at @manoavalleytheatre as the Props Designer. Getting to collaborate with such talented performers, designers, and hardworking stagehands throughout this process was incredibly special. This production had a predominantly female design team, which was really cool to be part of (shoutout to our awesome token male designer, Willie). I’m grateful to work with a company that genuinely highlights minority voices.
Working on this show meant a lot to me personally. Growing up as an Asian American in a predominantly white town, I struggled with my identity for a long time. I’m finally learning to embrace my culture more fully and appreciate just how lucky I was to grow up surrounded by such a vibrant community and strong values.
Being part of a production that centers Asian voices and experiences in such an honest, emotional, and funny way reminded me how important stories like these really are. I can’t wait for you all to see our hard work come to life. This show balances humor with conversations that feel incredibly relevant, and I truly think these themes will resonate with a lot of people.
