Many people think a film leader retriever is only for processing, but it’s useful to have regardless of whether you do your own processing or send your film to your local photo lab. Sometimes you need to pull the film leader out of a cassette, like when you want to swap film in the middle of a roll and your camera auto rewinds and pulls the leader all the way back in. With a film leader retriever, you can get the film back out if it’s been fully rewound by accident.
A film cassette opener, on the other hand, pops the top off the cassette and needs to be used in total darkness. No going back with this one; this is the simplest way to remove your film from the cassette before processing.

Tulsa's Space Needle. Oral Roberts University Prayer Tower, Tulsa, OK
This gorgeous 200 ft glass and steel structure was designed by Tulsa architect Frank Wallace and opened in 1967. The spindly red latticework (parts of which are made from PVC plastic, with the printed specs still visible) circling the tower is a Googie-style tribute to Jesus's bloody crown of thorns.
In 1987, controversial televangelist Oral Roberts went into the tower and announced publicly (with tears and pleas) that God would "call him home" if he didn't raise $8 million in 90 days, and would be fasting and praying until the money was raised. It worked, and at the last minute, a dog track owner from Florida sent $1.3 million, bringing the total to $9.1 million. The goal was met, Roberts ended the fast, continued to wear his Italian silk suits, diamond rings, and gold bracelets—airbrushed out by his staff on publicity pictures, and wasn't called home until 2009.

We are thrilled at the opportunity to collaborate with Driver 8 Records in Old Town to provide Fort Collins film photographers a convenient Film Drop location! Stop by, pick up a record, and drop off your film.
Here’s how it works:
» Fill out the provided envelope and load your film rolls inside.
» Place your completed envelope in the Film Drop box.
» Film will make its way to the lab in batches collected on Tuesday and Friday of each week. Scans are delivered via a download link to your email. Negatives are placed back at the drop box or mailed back.
