✨ Next up at Residency B28 : Rakel Andrésdóttir (ISL)
During her residency (11.5.–21.6.2026), Rakel will dive into hand-drawn animation and stop-motion, developing a short animated film for children. Working both in the studio and outdoors, she’ll create nature-based stop-motion pieces using puppets made from found materials—letting the landscape become part of the story. She’ll also collaborate with Finnish animator Kaisa Penttilä, exploring new techniques and Nordic connections through animation.
Alongside her artistic work, Rakel will lead a children’s workshop and develop a film script inspired by children’s thoughts about what happens after death—approaching big themes with curiosity, care, and playfulness.
We’re excited to see how her boundary-crossing storytelling and experimental methods unfold during her time at B28. 🌿🎞️
