I'm a big fan of cranking a guitar amp loud enough to suck the air out of the room and create a black hole. But sometimes such dangerous power needs to be attenuated. The @twonotesaudio Captor X+ allows you to get your tubes hotter than the surface of the sun and unleash its full scope of filth, with or without a guitar cab. It's a reactive load box, virtual cabinet, attenuator, and IR loader. It has a new Virtual Load Shaper feature that allows you to change post-load impedance curves. You can essentially fine tune your direct sound with this, but in a different way than a regular EQ, because it can also change or improve the way a guitar amp "feels".
Two Notes have come a long way since I did a demo for their old Torpedo Live in 2012. They are at the top of the game in this IR arena. I have high expectations for this Captor X+ because I know their standards are so high. I was present during the creation of the Erik Rutan and Karl Sanders IR packs, and I saw firsthand what goes into these. There's nothing on the market that compares to the way they do it.
I'm about to try it out, and I'll cook up a demo video to share the results.
