Ringo Starr 1981 “Caveman” Screen Worn & Signed Fur Boots - This pair of fur boots worn by Ringo Starr in the 1981 movie “Caveman.” This film is where Ringo met and Co-Starred with his wife to be, Barbara Bach. Both boots are marked with drawn stars by Ringo Starr on the bottom.
Provenance/Authenticity: The boots were obtained by their grandmother who knew Roy E. Peterson, the assistant film editor of “Caveman.” He gave the boots to the consignor’s mother in the 1980s. In the late 1990s or early 2000s, while working at the Westin hotel in Long Beach, the mother encountered Ringo Starr. Upon hearing she possessed the boots, Starr invited her to bring them to the hotel, where he embellished them with star drawings. Cultural Significance: Released in 1981, “Caveman” is a comedic film featuring Ringo Starr in a lead role. The film became known for its humor and the creative use of minimal dialogue. Starr’s participation in “Caveman” marked one of his more notable forays into film, drawing on his post-Beatles acting career. Barbara Bach, playing the female lead, shared significant screen time with Starr, and their involvement helped spotlight celebrity casting in comedic cinema of the era.
