FREEDOM OF SPEECH T-SHIRT
DROPPING TOMORROW
Experimenting with screenprint for the first time was a crazy experience. I enjoyed the whole process even though it’s been challenging to get the results I wanted. Basically every printing service told me it’s not doable how I imagined it. But here we are, finally. The most important image I took so far printed on a shirt. I love it.
STREETS OF EGYPT
These two men were sitting at an antique market in Cairo next to each other earlier this year. What caught my eye was the way they sat there, together. It was both of them being equally present in that moment. I couldn’t resist but observing them for a while. To me it felt like they are sitting there since 50 years and they will for another 50 years, together. When I came back to Cairo recently, we went to the antique market again. Both of them were sitting at the very same spot again.
STREETS OF EGYPT
Inside Saladin Citadel. My first time in a Mosque. Words can’t describe the feeling, maybe the pictures can. I have rarely felt such humility as I did at that moment when I was there.
STREETS OF EGYPT
The density of Cairo is unbelievable. It feels like an endless urban labyrinth. Every back door holds a secrets and can lead you to a new world, literally. You’re never done exploring. After spending a week there, I saw the city from above for the first time when visiting the Saladin Citadel, and the feeling was incredible.
STREETS OF EGYPT
This country has my heart. What inspires me most is the way Egyptians approach the challenges of daily life with a deep sense of togetherness. More than 22 million people live in Cairo, which means you are never really alone. In a Western context, people would tend to withdraw and seek false protection in anonymity, but here, despite the crowds, people are still open and approachable. So I tried to capture the little things that shape most people’s everyday lives in order to show my admiration and respect.

A selection of images we presented at our LA LA LAND exhibition last week at @hausderstatistik
For me, these images have a very personal value and remind me that living a self-centered life is simply naive. There are 8 billion of us. 8 billion life stories. Be aware of that.
More on website.
LA LA LAND is the manifestation of true purposeful collaboration. What started as an intense personal realisation turned into something concrete and tangible, becoming relatable through selfless artistry.
Thank you for being open enough to listen to our message.
