Our last accommodation while seeing more of Vancouver Island was at the beautifully restored Keating Farm. . This was the perfect location to see more of the Cowichan Valley. The rustic charm and attention to detail in the restored Granary, were greatly appreciated. . Meeting George, the owner, and having a farm tour was very interesting and one just can’t imagine the years of hard work it took to bring this heritage farm back to glory! A & G part deux Emotion is a key component of wedding photography. It’s common for it to be rare when you and your loved ones are photographed truly in the moment, usually you’re too busy living to stop and take the photos - that’s where I step in. I love to create imagery where you least expect it, to be both a fly on the wall and the hype human when desired. I’m not here to take away from the good time, but to add to it so that every photo taken has all of your favourite memories woven into them. It’s all about also taking the photos that don’t exist on Pinterest, the ones completely personal to you and special to you. The moment where your sister ties in your veil just before the aisle and you’re sharing one last glance in the mirror together. The long hug you share with your father after he walked you down the aisle. The candid moment of true laughter and awe documented of four of your loved ones on the same bench, not too fond of their photo being taken (when they’re aware) so it’s quick and silent. The tears and hugs shared between you and all of your guests following the most heartfelt speeches at your reception dinner. The spontaneous (last) first dance practice as the last light of day fades from golden sunset into night. These were all memories from A&G’s wedding day that all made their day even more precious and special. It’s moments like these that keep tears in my eyes from behind the camera, to behind my computer, to all the years later looking back on all the memories forever tangibly existent. And what a good day it was.
