CORTEX - the first piece of my @kdv.performance.group that gets to tour the world. CORTEX made it to Spain, Berlin, The Netherlands, NYC and Australia. A whole life making works…Directing them, choreographing them, writing them and moving with incredible people i have been lucky enough to have by my side. You never know if the work you make will have longevity and if the small audience that witness it At the Theater is the only people that will get to see it. The path of autonomous creation and following your own voice is a very challenging one. Actually quite often is fucking excruciating, and amongst the difficulties I still fucking love wat i do. Truly with all my heart. For independent artists, stage directors, and choreographers, there’s never a guarantee that a work you have conceptualized and directed will tour, be seen in theaters or festivals, or reach new audiences. Nowadays, it almost seems impossible. CORTEX is our little miracle, and I am profoundly proud of everyone who contributed to it, and grateful to all who believed in this work and invited us to share a window into my grieving—a grief that became a shared experience for our entire team. This piece has propelled our lives into a new dimension.
