Ever since seeing
@godfreycomic roasting Cortez on Wild ’N Out years ago, I’ve been a fan of his energy, honesty, and the way he’s always unapologetically himself. So getting the chance to actually sit down with him and ask one of my favorite questions felt surreal:
“What does it mean to be authentically yourself?”
And the answer he gave? Just like
@redmangilla … it stuck with me.
We talked about authenticity, standing firm in your identity, being Black in the creative industry, and not watering yourself down just to fit spaces that were never built for you in the first place. The conversation felt raw, honest, funny, insightful, and real in the same way his podcast “In Godfrey We Trust” feels every time you tune in.
If you know
@godfreycomic , then you know his perspective comes with truth, humor, confidence, and lived experience. That’s what made this conversation hit different for me.
Both Redman and Godfrey interviews reminded me why I keep asking people this question in the first place. I’m genuinely looking for more people to talk to about what it means to be authentically yourself: creatives, artists, entrepreneurs, everyday people, all of it.
I think these conversations matter now more than ever.
This is definitely a long watch 😭 but I promise it’s a good watch all the same. One of those conversations you sit with after it’s over.

@godfreypodcast too. Real conversations are rare nowadays.
Some conversations entertain you.
Some conversations challenge you.
Some conversations remind you to stand fully in who you are.
This one did all three
