to my mother, my aunts, my niece, my sister, my cousins, my mentors past and present, and the wonderful friends i’ve made throughout the years. thank you for pouring into me and affirming me in more ways than you and I could even fathom. I was born from a Black woman, all my life I’ve been surrounded my Black women, and I’ve never been more proud to be one. to Judy Mowatt, thank you for your words that still rings true to this present moment. I pray I do your song justice, and to reintroduce and remind people of the power we posses. may you continue to get your flowers while you can still smell them. and to any Black woman, public figure or unsung hero, who has felt disrespected, discredited and disregarded. to you I dedicate this song . happy Black History Month, and happy Reggae Month . before the year ends, I wanted to make sure I posted about AMERIKA’S NEXT TOP PARTY! by @partyoftwo , a special album I was involved in that saw the light of day a couple months ago. this is the first project of this caliber that i’ve had a hand in other than citizen queen’s or my own. i saw yall transform before my eyes in the years that we became friends and eventually began to work together. alchemizing the broad range of the human experience into art is one of the greatest divine gifts that creatives can have if they are in tune, and yall did and continue to do just that. immensely proud of the people and the vessels you have become. over 20 million streams later, and with performances for Genius, Vevo, Camp Flog Gnaw (!!!?!?!??!), tour and so much more under the belt, here we are. please pat yourselves on the back if you haven’t already. what a blessing . i cannot say thank you enough for trusting me, my voice, and my ideas to be a part of something so pivotal in your career. from hooting & hollering to BGVs and textures to songwriting, you have embraced it all and have helped me become a more confident and self-assured writer and creative. our synergy is something i don’t take lightly. i love yall so big! 🫂⭐️ bigup to the new friend i have in @hlybridge , @jaxonbuzzell a proactive manager, the magician that is @dbmagic , the don @tunji , and creds to every single artist involved in the album, the visuals, and live performances that have happened and are yet to come. it takes a village, belief and action. what a world. job well done, everyone 👏🏾
