🎾🏓 Is there a young person in your life interested in learning how to play tennis or pickle ball? Sign them up for free lessons in memory of tennis pro and Ashland native Julie Ditty Qualls. 🗓️ 9-10 a.m., June 1-5, ages 7-12 🗓️10-11 a.m., June 8-12, ages 13-18 📍Ashland Tennis Center This is the fifth year the clinics have been sponsored by the Julie Ditty Qualls Foundation in her honor. Julie, who had a successful career as a professional tennis player, passed away in 2021 at the age of 42 from breast cancer. Throughout her career, she frequently gave free clinics to promote the sport she loved and help children in the community. Last year’s clinic included 300 participants along with 40 instructors/volunteers – many of whom Julie taught. T-shirts will be available for sale and Kona Ice will be on-site. Do you know someone who has considered a career in healthcare, but they aren’t sure where to start? UK King’s Daughters has a great opportunity – our Medical Assistant Trainee Program! This comprehensive program prepares students to obtain Clinical Medical Assistant certification. Participants will be trained in all aspects of medical assisting, including, but not limited to: • Vital signs • Medical terminology • Basic human anatomy • Immunizations and vaccines • Venipuncture • EKGs • Office administration/scheduling • Other duties facilitated by the clinical and clerical team in the outpatient offices Participants will be employed in a full-time hourly position, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and are eligible for full-time benefits, including health, dental, and vision insurance; paid time off; and retirement.The program begins in mid-July 2026 and continues approximately 22 weeks.
