In honor of National Volunteer Month, we want to take a moment to celebrate and thank our volunteers. From everyone at the Kansas City Sports Commission, your time, energy, and commitment make everything we do possible. We truly couldn’t do it without you! 🫶
Some moments can’t be explained — only felt. Sit with them. Know that we’re proud, we love you, and KC’s with you no matter what. Congratulations to all 💙
👟 Congratulations to all who participated in the Garmin Kansas City Marathon (@kcmarathon ) today! 🏆
We have one more way to help you celebrate today’s accomplishment. Personal Best, our new exhibition celebrating six Kansas City artist-athletes, opens today. Dedication, discipline, and drive push these artists beyond individual limits in both their art-making and athletic pursuits, revealing the shared qualities of this dual identity.
Museum doors open at 10 a.m. and we will be ready to welcome runners, spectators, and all art lovers.
Special thanks to the KC Sports Commission (@sport_kc ) for sponsoring Personal Best and hosting today’s marathon, which probably facilitated a few more personal bests by the participants.
Tonight, Union Station shines blue in celebration of Saturday morning's Garmin @kcmarathon .
We were honored to once again host the Marathon's Health and Fitness Expo presented by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City and to welcome runners for pre-race packet pick up.
We send good luck wishes to both organizers and participants for a successful race day!

Expo days hit different! Yesterday’s shakeout run was the perfect way to end the day & the city air felt amazing.
Runners are rolling in, the energy’s high, and we’re getting ready for the big day tomorrow. Come hang out 💙 we’ll be here until 7 PM!
Meet Steve! At 80 years old, he’s here from Indiana to take on the marathon while living with Parkinson’s.
Running has been part of Steve’s story for decades, and he’s not slowing down anytime soon. Just a couple of weeks ago, he finished a half marathon in 2:09 & now he’s ready to conquer 26.2 miles through KC.
His brother, Bruce, has run this race 20 times (including the very first one back in 1979!) and is cheering him on in the 5K this year.
We’re so inspired by his determination, his joy, and his reminder to chase what moves you.
Let’s cheer on Steve all weekend long!
