𝑆𝑜𝑓𝑡 𝑂𝑏𝑗𝑒𝑐𝑡 The Soft Object exhibition seeks to offer a moment of rest to those living with anxiety amid the rapid changes of contemporary society through the theme of “Soft.” The word “soft” can be understood in many ways: as a material quality, a visual impression, or an emotional attitude toward someone or something. In particular, it can also be felt in the artist’s mindset and approach toward their practice. Through the soft and distinctive works of eight artists from various craft disciplines, we hope visitors will find space to pause, empty their minds, and simply feel. This exhibition at YÉOL features artist Go Bohkyung (@bohkyung_go ), who participated in the APEC Korean Craft Exhibition, and JO A-Ra (@jo_obb ), who previously participated in the exhibition Craft In Transformation in Dubai. The works of both artists will be on the view through June 2. — 50-1/50-3, Bukchon-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul 6 May–2 June 2026 11:00–17:00 #KCDF #KoreanCrafts #YeoL #GoBohkyung #JoAra

𝐶𝑟𝑜𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑜 𝐻𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑒𝑠𝑠 The “Blue Bird” crafted by Seong Hwan Hyun (@hhwwan.a )is not an unattainable utopia. Rather, it embodies the very essence of a “gentle gaze” that quietly stays by our side. Depending on where we place this Blue Bird and how we choose to look at it, even the most ordinary and lifeless spaces begin to fill with warmth and a pleasant sense of vitality. Supporting this exhibition, House of Choi (@houseofchoi.kr ) serves as an affiliated exhibition venue for the 2025 APEC Korean Craft Exhibition. Rooted in 250 years of regional coexistence and its longstanding management philosophy, the organization aims to visualize the value of Gyeongju through cultural initiatives and to build a lifestyle platform that connects with future generations. Seong Hwan Hyun works will be on view from May 7 to May 19 at Café EYST 1779 and selected areas of Yosukgung. — 21, Gyochonan-gil, Gyeongju-si 7–19 May 2026 11:00–21:00 * 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘦𝘹𝘩𝘪𝘣𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘵 𝘠𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘰𝘬𝘨𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘴 𝘢𝘷𝘢𝘪𝘭𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦 𝘣𝘺 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺. #KCDF #HouseOfChoi #EYST1779 #YOSUKGUNG #HyunSeongHwan

Material originates in the earth, yet this exhibition suggests that the true origin of materiality lies in the artist’s hand—where intention, time, and discipline transform substance into form. Identity reveals itself through the attitude one has lived by. Each presence emerges subtly through restraint, gesture, and sensibility, offering a rare opportunity to encounter the material presence presented by Soluna—revealing the thought and beauty held within each work. Soluna (@solunacraft ) presents Origin of Materials A collectible exhibition for London Craft Week (@londoncraftweek ) is now on view at St George Street Gallery in the heart of Mayfair, featuring around 50 works across glass, metal, ceramics, and horsehair, showcasing contemporary Korean craftsmanship through refined material exploration. This exhibition also marks Soluna’s fourth participation as the International Pavilion South Korea and is presented with support from KCDF’s “Development of International Distribution Networks of Korean Craft” program. Participating Artists Kyouhong Lee · Woosun Cheon · Keeryong Choi · Dahye Jeong · Yaerin Pyun · Jongjin Park · Yong Sunwoo · Jaehyeon Lim · Inbeom Song — St George Street Gallery, Mayfair 8–17 May 2026 11:00–19:00 #KCDF #KoreanCraft #SolunaCraft #LondonCraftWeek

Jeonghwa Seo (@studio_jeonghwa_seo ) has long explored the tactile sensations and formal possibilities of functional objects through structural experiments and the use of diverse materials. In this latest body of work, he views material not as a fixed state, but as an entity with the potential for change, capturing the ”ambiguous“ moments that emerge where different materials meet and transition. Utilizing aluminum sand casting as a primary medium, these works create a sensory experience where nature and metal, function and form, and structure and organicity coexist within a single frame. We invite you to experience ”Ambiguity,“ an exhibition that challenges you to rediscover materials you thought you knew. Following our collaboration at Design Miami 2025, his creative momentum continues this year. His latest series is currently on view at KCDF Gallery (@kcdf_exhibition ) from April 29 to May 10. — #KCDF #KoreanCrafts #SeoJeongHwa #KCDFgallery

We are pleased to announce that Jiyong Kim (@ji.yong_2 ) has been selected as one of the 51 artists for the Contextile 2026 (@contextile_biennial ) International Exhibition. Known for his continuous dedication to the concept of ”Reweaving,“ Kim reinterprets discarded materials into a sophisticated new artistic language. For Kim, ‘Reweaving’ (再織) is more than just the act of weaving again; it is a practice of reshaping our perception of objects and redefining the essence of craft. While traditional weaving focuses on the act of making, ”Reweaving“ expands this into a process that transcends recycling to include a fundamental shift in perspective. Utilizing discarded banners and tarp scraps—materials that have outlived their original function—Kim uncovers their latent potential and accidental beauty. The repetitive process of cutting, joining, and connecting these fragments deconstructs the conventional rules of craft, giving rise to a powerful new visual dialogue. The selected piece will be on display in Guimarães, Portugal, from September 5th to November 29th, 2026. — #KCDF #KoreanCrafts #KimJiYong #Contextile2026

Established 40 years ago, Marunuma Art Park (@marunuma_art_park ) is one of the leading residency programs in Japan’s Kanto region, having hosted numerous artists, including internationally renowned artist Takashi Murakami. Minyeol Cho (@denimgrain_official ) is currently in residence at the Marunuma Art Park Residency and continues to expand his practice. Cho’s work is rooted in a repetitive process of decolorizing, attaching, and cutting denim fragments—an approach that brings together chance and intention in equal measure. Through the accumulation of these gestures, his compositions unfold as layered surfaces rich with depth and subtle variation. At the core of his practice lies the pursuit of “natural imagery through the familiarity of artificial materials.” This inherent duality—where the artificial and the natural intersect—invites viewers to experience a simultaneous sense of estrangement and recognition, ultimately revealing new possibilities embedded within the ordinary. Meanwhile, Minyeol Cho participated in Collect Art Fair 2025 under the curation of Siat Gallery, where his work garnered significant attention. — #KCDF #KoreanCrafts #MarunumaArtPark #ChoMinYeol

Korea continues to celebrate an exceptional achievement this year, with six finalists selected for the LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize. Among them is ceramic artist Jongjin Park (@jongjinpark_ceramics ), with whom we previously collaborated in the exhibition Craft in Transformation in Dubai. His practice, which involves repeatedly brushing and layering slip onto paper—often over a thousand times—approaches an act of devotion. Yet, as the artist reflects: “Moments of brilliance or heightened sensitivity are not something extraordinary. By consistently doing what must be done, they naturally deepen within me.” His unwavering attitude toward clay and material manifests visually as a meditation on time—one that is deeply accumulated and intricately interwoven. One year on, his works will be on view in a solo exhibition at Gallery Mosoon from April 16 to May 3. — #KCDF #KoreanCrafts #ParkJongJin #SoloExhibition #CraftInTransformation

Through the small lens of glass, the artist reveals the quiet brilliance of mother nature. Rather than imitating nature, her practice explores a sense of awe itself—turning it into a visual language shaped by caring and non-stop inquiries. Driven by a continuous curiosity about nature, she embraces the chemical and physical interactions between materials, allowing them to unfold on their own terms. By letting the 'glass' move as it will, she minimizes human intervention, and captures nature’s intrinsic beauty. <The Flow of Light> by Sogon Kim (@sogon_whispering ) are on view from April 8 to May 31 at the Window Gallery, Seoul Museum of Craft Art. — #KCDF #KoreanCrafts #KimSoGon #CraftTrendFair

Ferrari and COOL HUNTING collaborate with contemporary Korean artists, to create a one-of-a-kind 12Cilindri Tailor Made in honor of Korea. Over two years, Ferrari and the participating artists pursued an approach defined not by ornamentation. The variations by these emerging artists are woven throughout the 12Cilindri Tailor Made, and the process—driven by technical experimentation and conceptual risk—produced a genuine collaboration, generating outcomes that extend beyond the project itself. We are pleased to present Hyunhee Kim, who joined us at Design Miami 2025 and is among the artists who collaborated with Ferrari on the 12Cilindri Tailor Made project. Meet So Myeong Lee(@lee_so_myeong ), an artist presented at the <2025 Craft Trend Fair>, who has been selected as a finalist for the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize 2026(@loewefoundation ). Chronicle Matters—These two four-legged forms have been made through a slow process of bending, weaving, and binding thin, elongated pieces of oak. Steam-bent and shaped while hot to impart elasticity and tension, the pieces are joined by hand. Chronicle Matters will be on view at the National Museum of Singapore from May 13 to June 14. - #KCDF #KoreanCrafts #LeeSoMyeong #LOEWEFOUNDATIONCraftPrize
