World Cancer Day is personal for me and not just me, but nearly everyone will experience or know someone with it.
For the second time, I’ve had part of my nose removed because of cancerous cells caused by skin cancer. What began as something small and easy to ignore turned into surgery and a serious reminder about how important our skin health really is.
If sharing this makes even one person check a spot, book a screening or take sun protection seriously, then it’s worth speaking about.
Please don’t brush off changes to your skin. Trust your instincts and get anything unusual checked quickly. Early detection truly saves lives.
To everyone fighting cancer, in remission, grieving a loved one or supporting someone through it, I see you today and always.
