The Celtic Fiddle Festival have a new recording out on USB drive, "Humoresque". As well as the audio files the drive contains photographs, sheet music, sleeve notes and credits. The audio files are in 2 formats, MP3 and also, for higher sound quality, WAV files. "Humoresque" features some wonderful Breton , Scottish and Irish music from fiddlers Yuna Léon (Brittany), Charlie McKerron (from Capercallie), and myself, Kevin Burke. When I first met Sharon she was a teenager and already a highly talented accordeon player. Seán and I became friends through his work with Lúnasa. One night at a session in Galway I mentioned my idea for this series and was thrilled that Sean and Sharon responded so enthusiastically.

Here are a couple clips from Episode 5 with Seamie O'Dowd and Rick Epping. Getting together with Rick and Seamie was particularly pleasing, given our strong Sligo connections. When I was a boy my father and I used to visit Seamie’s fiddle playing parents, Joe and Sheila. Many years later I met Rick who had recently moved to Sligo from California with his “Pumpkinhead” bandmates. Rick had also became very friendly with the O’Dowds and, of course, it wasn’t long before the young Seamie was thrilling us all with his music. Enjoy!
