2 years ago today I was checked into the hospital in the middle of the night in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Today in Los Angeles California, right about the same time I got up, made my delicious coffee in my new home and worshipped God as has become my routine and joy. I celebrate today with this hospital bracelet because I’m living proof of what God can do with just 1% faith, a community of people who love you deeply, and His supernatural power. Your brain needs words to heal. My mom always said to me that she couldn’t get the words out, and its what killed her. I’m pleading with you, please find a way to put words to your feelings. Use your voicenotes, journaling, notes app, call a friend - I don’t care how you do it but put words to what is in your mind. This year marks 25 years since I lost my mom to suicide, and as a daughter I have had to walk through layers and layers of healing, and will continue until Jesus comes back. Even when it feels over, its not. I can tell you from REAL experience, Jesus is the RESURRECTION and the life. Don’t just believe in God, but believe God when He says that He will turn your ashes in to joy and your mourning into joy. The trick is that you have to surrender your ashes and mourning to Him in order to receive the beauty and the joy He has to give you. Believe God when you feel numb, when you can’t see anything in your darkness. I promise you, HE WILL SHOW UP. I’m willing to bet my life on that truth. I love you.
