A Privilege I’ll Never Forget Today, at the Justice Matters 2026 Conference held at the iconic Peace Palace in The Hague, I had the profound honour of meeting and listening to Justice Albie Sachs , a former judge of the first Constitutional Court of South Africa and a true giant of justice. A man who lost his right arm in a brutal apartheid-era car bomb assassination attempt in 1988, yet emerged with an even greater commitment to human dignity, equality, and the rule of law. His resilience is not just physical, it is moral and intellectual. In his keynote, “The Justice that Matters: Turning the Negative into the Positive,” Justice Sachs shared powerful reflections drawn from South Africa’s transition from oppression to democracy. He reminded us that justice is not an afterthought in peacebuilding , it is the foundation. His words blended profound legal wisdom with deep humanity, ubuntu, and hope. Meeting him reinforced one truth: Real justice demands courage, empathy, and the willingness to turn personal pain into public progress. Grateful beyond words for this moment. The world still needs voices like Justice Sachs. #JusticeMatters2026 #AlbieSachs #RuleOfLaw #PeacePalace #TransformativeJustice #HumanRights #SouthAfrica

Justice First, Stability Follows. In Nigeria’s long and turbulent story, one truth stands out clearly: where justice is delayed, denied, or politicized, instability takes root. From colonial legacies to military eras and our democratic struggles, the erosion of the rule of law has fueled conflict, eroded trust, and held back progress. Insecurity thrives not just from poverty or ambition, but from the perception, and often the reality, that the system does not treat people fairly. Yet, hope and practical examples exist. In Ondo State, as the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, we continue to champion justice sector reforms: improving access to justice for the indigent, engaging on criminal justice improvements, supporting innovation in law, and even representing Ondo and Nigeria’s experiences at the global HiiL Justice Matters Conference 2026 in The Hague. These efforts remind us that justice is not abstract, it is the foundation for peace, investment, and social cohesion. When citizens see fair trials, accountable institutions, efficient courts, and leadership that prioritizes equity over expediency, communities stabilize. When people believe the law protects the weak as much as the powerful, they invest in tomorrow instead of resorting to self-help or unrest. Justice is not the enemy of order, it is the only sustainable path to it. Nigeria’s story teaches us that shortcuts, selective enforcement, and compromised institutions breed resentment and fragility. Ondo’s ongoing work in strengthening public defense, criminal justice reforms, and broader rule-of-law advocacy shows what forward momentum looks like. It is therefore imperative that we prioritize justice; swift, fair, and accessible. Stability, prosperity, and genuine peace will follow. #JusticeFirst #RuleOfLaw #OndoState #NigeriaRising

**Post (X / Twitter-style):** Excited to share this transformative journey. ✈️ From Nigeria to London and France, I’ve arrived in **The Hague**—the International City of Peace and Justice—for **Justice Matters Conference 2026**. A powerful convening on people-centred justice, innovation in law, and building systems that deliver **real access**, **fairness**, and **stability** for citizens. The iconic **Peace Palace**—home to the **International Court of Justice** and global institutions—reaffirms my belief that **justice is foundational to peace and progress**. While here, I’m reflecting on the need for **The Capitol in Nigeria**—our bold initiative to position **Ondo State as Nigeria’s Capital of Justice**. It is possible. Led by **Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa**, and driven through the **Ministry of Justice led by me**, this vision is rooted in a deep diagnosis of systemic challenges: **case delays, limited access for the vulnerable, outdated infrastructure**, and the gap between **law on paper** and **justice in practice**. **The Capitol** will blend institutional innovation, policy reform, human-centred design, technology, and partnerships to deliver **faster, fairer, and more trusted justice**. Our philosophy is clear: **Justice delayed is justice denied. Justice inaccessible or unaffordable is no justice at all.** I’m excited to learn, connect with global experts, and return with actionable insights to accelerate this vision. The future of justice in Nigeria is being shaped today—and we are ready to lead. #JusticeMatters2026 #TheHague #InternationalCityOfJustice #OndoState #CapitalOfJustice TheCapitol RuleOfLaw AccessToJustice Odatiwa KayodeAjulo

I HAD A DREAM❗️ Portable vs Odumeje 😄 This morning, I found myself in an airport lounge, restless, then suddenly, off. I slipped away with a brief snap of the strange, an omen oddly unasked for. And yet, in the wake of it, sleep arrived: quiet, uncommon, almost courteous. In that dream, I beheld yet another celebrity fight, Portable, the Zazu King, vs Odumaje Indaboski, the Liquid Metal. ❗️

To be summoned to The Hague, the world capital of justice, that noble height upon which justice is enthroned above the divisions of men, is an honour both humbling and profound. There, in that august sanctuary of law, one does not merely arrive; one ascends, called to reflect upon the higher purpose of justice as the binding thread of our common humanity.
