It’s time. more then 4 years ago we purchased our land in Azenhas do Mar, Sintra. 🌿
And now we are ready to move into the next phase of the development of Kaya Grounds. 🛖
With the construction licence expected very soon, we invite in the last investors, that feel they want to become part of this journey.
Kaya Grounds has been my greatest opportunity for transformation, for growth, and for following my own path. A journey that has led me back to doing what I love.
As we’ve entered a time where people are being called back to what’s real. Where we are asked to choose for our authentic path.
And especially for that we will need places that hold us in this process, sanctuaries to come home when the world gets too loud.
That’s why we are building Kaya Grounds.
It has been quite a journey already, but the best is yet to come.

VISION.
A vision starts with a seed. With the right ingredients, the seed shall develop in due time.
Kaya is becoming the vehicle for a vision that meets us where we need freedom to be, become, and belong.
Kaya is a sanctuary in the making, where you are invited to re-discover yourself, honour your authenticity and uniqueness, and share it with the community.
It is about listening to your heart and following those messages, just as we did — a calling to create Kaya.
THE CORE PRINCIPLES.
Kaya is not just a place or a project. Kaya is a response.
A response to a collective longing — for connection, for stillness, for healing, for beauty, for meaning, and for living your authentic path.
In a world that often pulls us away from ourselves — into busyness, into distraction, into stress — Kaya invites us to return. To return to something simpler, quieter, more true.
It’s not about escaping life, but about coming home to life — to the depth and fullness of our own presence.
The meditations, the nature, the food, the architecture, the silence — they are all part of the same message: “You are already whole.”
Kaya is not here to fix you, improve you, or change you. Kaya is here to remind you — of who you truly are when all the noise settles.
Our approach is guided by 8 core principles that shape every experience we offer.
Last Saturday we celebrated our second ceremonial concert 🤎this time @kaya.grounds 🌿 with 🎸 @nickbarbachano & Friends @miyukimusicofficial@joannalewins.music@niamhpadma .
It was a beautiful intimate night of community, music and prayer. Thank you for all those who brought their energy to cocreate this container 🙏🏻✨🫶🏽

FACILITATORS.
As you know, we are creating Kaya for community as much as we are creating it for facilitators!
To create for facilitators, we are considering vibe, details, space and amenities.
Here are some of the spaces that will be available for hosting:
- dome - 110 sq m round space including a fireplace
- xI pavilion - 175sq m, rectangular with a view
- large pavilion - 150sq m with a fireplace, semi-cave
- garden pavilion - space with a garden view
- group rooms for the retreat

INVITATION.
Having spent years travelling the world, sharing music in singing and prayer rituals, Nick Barbachano has dedicated much of his life to building community through ritual, music, prayer, togetherness and celebration.
His music comes from the heart, and his intention to explore the mystic nature of the human condition. It reflects his journey from cerebral philosophic contemplation to the rediscovery of prayer.
His simple songs and poetic lyrics are a call
for gratitude and celebration for all we have.

HOLISTIC DESIGN.
The humans mind is wired for survival - to pick up on threats and protect us from them. It’s our nature.
When creating Kaya, we consider how this space affects those experiencing it — how it feels, how it is designed.
By considering direct experience of architecture and design, we are creating a space that invites you to relax and step away from perceived threat.
Giving you permission to let go of ongoing mental analysis, the space holds you to rest in Pure Awareness, if you wish, and are ready, to do so.

BECOMING.
The process of becoming who we truly are is like a dimmer switch — a journey of revelation, of remembrance.
To become, we need a slow, deep investigation of who we think we are.
With courage, patience and compassion, we are invited to abandon what no longer holds true.
We are invited to hold the knowing that our uniqueness cannot be shadowed, and so, we allow our own flower to blossom.
SANCTUARIES.
Curation means establishing how spaces are lived, how they impact those living in them.
Kaya is designed to be a Sanctuary, bathrooms included! They are spaces to reset and transform, so we envision them to be earthy, grounding spaces for your personal rituals. A space of peace and serenity, a space away from the world.
With great enthusiasm we are inviting you for another ceremonial Concert this time with @nickbarbachano in collaboration with friends of Kaya Grounds @joannalewins.music (cacao) & @miyukimusicofficial (opening-set). ✨🎶
This special intimate gathering at Kaya Grounds will begin with a cacao ceremony, opening the space for connection, presence, and intention, before transitioning into an intimate concert under the stars. This night together in community we weave a field of warmth, healing, and shared presence.
A gentle medicine for the heart and soul in times that call for authenticity, depth, and belonging. See you there!
