❗️❗️❗️OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT ❗️❗️❗️ Hello guys. This is the first official announcement for an indie Kashmiri-language feature film to be shot here in Jammu. It marks my debut as a fiction film director. I’m a bit nervous, but jumping in the void has always been exciting and I’ve ended up at pretty interesting places. I wish to work with people from J&K, considering it’s a story from here, for here. Also, because we do have great talent here. There is this new jolting enthusiasm in a bunch of young artists to work regionally, to revamp and reinvent and that’s something I’m so happy to be a part of. However, it will be an open call and we would love to work with people outside the state too. I’ll be posting the crew call and the casting call very soon. Stay tuned. #film #explore #jammu #kashmir #kashmiri

The evening will feature films by Renu Savant, Divya Kharnare, Shreela Agarwal, and Amitha Balachandra, followed by a conversation with the filmmakers and an exchange with fellow filmmakers, journalists, and nonfiction storytellers. VC has arrived in Mumbai, India! 🇮🇳 This weekend, on Saturday, May 16 at 7pm IST, we’re launching a new local hub in the “City of Dreams.” The night opens with a curated selection of short docs that reflect Mumbai’s many textures — its people, its spaces, its many lived realities. Through these films, we hope to set the tone for what this hub stands for: diverse voices, grounded storytelling, and a shared engagement with the world around us. Whether you’re a local documentary filmmaker, a video journalist, or just deeply nonfiction-curious — this community is being built with you in mind. Come shape what it becomes! 🎟️ RSVP at the link in bio. Shoutout to our amazing hub organizers Megha Acharya (@megha.022 ), Anusha Datta (@kauldatta ), and Shubhika Sharma (@shubhydoobiedoo ) for strengthening and connecting Mumbai’s nonfiction video scene. 👏

Some of the best films you will ever watch never made it to a theatre. CinéHouse is an evening dedicated to independent short films made with small budgets, bold ideas, and a lot of heart. This edition features Interplay and The Journey, two films exploring creativity, memory, emotion, and the experience of being alive. 🎬 About the filmmakers Anusha Datta is a Mumbai-based documentary filmmaker, cinematographer, and editor whose work explores memory, displacement, and intergenerational trauma through observational storytelling and archival experimentation. Hitesh Agarwal is a filmmaker from Raipur whose journey began in theatre before assisting directors like Vishal Bhardwaj, Dibakar Banerjee, and Konkona Sen. His work focuses on emotionally resonant stories rooted in human experience and social realities. Sunday | 10th May 4pm – 6pm Comment “films” and we’ll send you the link 🎞️
