Growing up in Ericeira surfing right-hand point breaks, it has always been a dream to surf J-Bay! After a last minute call and countless hours of flights to get there, it was all worth it!
Long days, getting in the water at first light and leaving at sunset (sorry @cee_sonke for getting you worried but I was alright, the sharks didn’t get me, I just wanted to take advantage of every bit of light I could get 😂)

On a very last-minute call from @siyandahewittsurfer and @smilewavefund , last week I ended up going to South Africa. The main idea was to pay a visit to our friends at @surfersnotstreetchildren , but by a stroke of destiny, there was a swell lining up for J-Bay — so we followed it and scored epic waves before heading up to Durban.
It was great to be reunited with the boys and share some sick waves, and amazing to go back to @surfersnotstreetchildren and revisit old friends. It was inspiring to witness the grit, courage, motivation and evolution of all the kids. @surfersnotstreetchildren is a program unlike any other — founded by @tomhewittmbe more than 25 years ago, pioneering at what they do and doing essential work for the Durban local community. If you haven’t heard of them, you should definitely go check them out and give them a follow.

Last Saturday, @katzsurf and @tomasslacerda competed at the @open_surf_yerbabuena in Spain 🇪🇸, after the initial round they ended up going against each other in the same heat 🏄♂️.
