🌟 NORTH COUNTRY TOUR & PRE-ORDER!🌟 I'm going on tour for North Country (haven't done a book tour since 2014 for Five Ways to Fall and considering this is one of my new favourite books, I think I'm due). Make sure to grab your ticket! For the Plot Twist, if you were unable to get a ticket, we will be extending the time to accommodate a free signing line starting at 8pm. Can't make an event? Order a copy from one of the fabulous indie romance bookstores participating in the preorder incentive and get ALL the extra swag that comes along with the paperback. šŸ‡ØšŸ‡¦ readers: stay tuned for info about Canadian store visits For more info on tour stops and to pre-order, visit here >> /northcountryiscoming If you're attending The City Fling signing in Austin or the Star of the North signing in Minneapolis, you can purchase copies from the event bookseller (Austin signing peeps, you get early copies!) I will NOT be selling any at my table so you need to preorder from the booksellers: City Fling > /products/city-fling-2026?attribute_Author/Brand=TUCKER+K+A Star of the North > https://beventi.co/product/123993/north-country-paperback?source=event&orderFormUid=s6pqt77ovw&orderFormType=standard&orderFormRoute=orderform&eventSlug=star-of-the-north-author-event-2026-us-139739103501&order_form_item_id=500829

If North Country had a movie poster… Emery McAllister once dreamed of leaving Cold River with the boy next door, but one devastating night destroyed their future and left her heart carefully guarded. Twenty years later, she’s built a life of control: running the town’s police detachment, raising her daughter, and keeping a fragile peace with her ex-husband, the mayor. She’s certain she has moved on until the day she has dreaded—and secretly hoped for—finally arrives. Logan Landry is home. After two decades behind bars for being in the wrong place at the wrong time—and the choices that haunted him ever since—Logan returns to his family’s bison ranch carrying the weight of everything he lost, but especially Emery. Friendship is all he dares hope for now, but seeing her ignites a fire he thought long extinguished. When a teenage girl disappears and old wounds reopen, Logan becomes Cold River’s favorite suspect, despite his airtight alibi. As distrust closes in, Emery must choose between the life she’s built … and the love she can’t let go.

Last September, I drove 2000km to find inspiration and the perfect setting for North Country, exploring areas I’ve never visited before (hey, Tobermory! Hey, Manitoulin Island!) and others I’ve only passed through. I sailed on a ferry I didn’t know existed across Georgian Bay, hiked to the Cup and Saucer Lookout, sipped a pint overlooking Gore Bay, spotted a giant flock of Blue Heron (hundreds!), crossed the historic Little Current swing bridge, posed with the Big Nickel (it’s really big), devoured fudge at the French River Trading Post, stumbled upon a where-are-we rural farm store (great chicken pot pies!), filled up at a gas station/LCBO/Canada Post/bus station/bait shop, and lunched overlooking the picturesque Lake Timiskaming. In all of this, I was on the hunt for one particular bison ranch (which I never found) and ended up at another, which turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. Ā  Cold River is a fictional small town in northern Ontario, situated on Hwy 11, otherwise known as the Trans-Canada Highway (a system of routes that will take you across the entire country. In Ontario, it is the northernmost highway.) I drew inspiration from a collection of towns — Temiskaming Shores, Earlton, Englehart, and Cobalt — to create the setting for this story, and while Cold River may not exist in real life, by the time you’ve finished North Country, I hope it exists in your imagination.
