If you’re a hair extensionist, this is your organization dream đź’. My unopened hair is marked and sorted by length method and color.
Next is my open stock labeled the same way and sorted into photo storage boxes (4x6 size). Yes you can get these as smaller options and even with a plastic little case. These I bought loose without a case in packs of 24. I used the case for about a year testing then grew out of it. These are amazing for all methods.
I had these drawers custom made by the amazingly talented Edgar at @madrigalwoodprocess . We tested out sliders and wood options along with specific measurements for these specific boxes. I mean, when I commit, I commit. I did this so when I use any kind of hair, no matter the packaging by any brand I have a fool proof storage option for myself.
This year is about efficiency for me behind the chair and implementing best practices for success whether during install or even the way I organize. Let me know if you want more!!!

Had a little time so I decided to take some hair I had considered unusable and repurpose it on my friend.
Originally the hair quality was amazing but the tipping was keratin that wasn't me friendly.
Once i reworked it and changed the keratin, I dropped it. Big difference with a little bit of denisty.
15 grams to be specific.
And let me be clear- 🔊🔊🔊I can spot patterns, adjust installs, protect your hair as much as I can with our time together.
But I’m not here to diagnose. I am not a doctor!
Hair loss is usually a combination of things,
and if something feels off, it’s worth looking into sooner than later. And if you think you're being gaslit or brushed off, advocate for yourself.
Vaping
• When it shows up: slowly over time
• What it can look like: dull, weaker strands and overall thinning
• Why: reduced blood flow
• Extensions? Proceed carefully focus on lightweight install
Low Iron
• When: slow progressive
• What is can look like: diffuse thinning, wider part, less density
• Why: body doesn't prioritize hair before essential functions day to day.
• Extensions? Yeah but density and placement matter
Blood Sugar Spikes
• When: over time, bad habits
• What👀: thinning at temples/crown, finer strands
• Why: hormone disruption
• Extensions? Only if scalp health is stable
Stress or Anesthesia (post surgery shedding)
• When: 6–12 weeks after
• What👀: sudden, heavy shedding all over
• Why: shock to the system pushes hair into shedding phase
• Extensions? Wait until shedding slows, then go light
Subtle and consistent Tension
• When: builds over time
• What👀: hairline and edge thinning, where elastic tightens breakage
• Why: constant pull on follicles
• Extensions? Adjust method, weight or take a beat.
Not because I’m against evolution.
But because I care more about design than hype.
1. Double drawn isn’t automatically better.
With softer, feathered movement trending, density at the ends can fight the cut especially if you're less confident with cutting and detailing.
More bulk doesn’t equal a better blend. All it does is create a curtain.
2. Overly complicated pretreated shades can create problems.
Rooted. Balayaged. Possibly overworked.
When pre-colored tones fade unpredictably, you lose control. It's easy to start but after 4 months trying to reverse fading on complicated colors becomes more difficult.
I’d rather customize and blend with intention.
3. More hair isn’t the answer. Better design is.
If something feels heavy, it’s usually distribution .
You might not need more hair. You need intentional installation or even a different method. Extensions is a solution based service not a fad. One method is never the only option for every person.
These @inhprofessional wefts have seen multiple installs and they’re still going strong.
The weft spine is in excellent condition and the integrity of the hair is there. That’s what matters.
Instead of replacing them immediately, we assessed the structure and made a strategic decision:
• Removed 6 inches
• Reinstalled
• Rebuilt the shape
• Refreshed the tone
Sometimes stretching the lifespan of your extensions is correct course of action rather than starting over.
Quality hair + proper installs + maintenance = extended wear potential.
Not every refresh requires a full reinvestment.
Sometimes it just requires a little TLC.
Sometimes trusting the process and your vision is the hardest part. Keep pushing and have faith in what you know.
She asked me to follow the color her colorist had previously done and simply extend it. We couldn’t be happier with the end result.
